Yolmer Sanchez lined an RBI double in the sixth, Avisail Garcia homered in the ninth and Reynaldo Lopez threw seven shutout innings as the Chicago White Sox defeated the host Baltimore Orioles 2-0 Saturday night at Camden Yards.

The White Sox now have won three straight. In addition, the victory clinched the season series against the Orioles. Chicago holds a 4-2 lead with one game left.

This will be the first time since 2008 that the White Sox (59-89) have beaten the Orioles (42-106) in the season series.

Both starters dominated much of the game as neither team got a runner into scoring position until Baltimore put one at second with two outs in the fifth but stranded him.

As for the starters, Yefry Ramirez (1-6) gave the Orioles a strong effort and shut down the White Sox for 5 2/3 innings before fading a bit at the end.

He allowed just two baserunners in the first five innings, gave up one run on four hits and matched a career high with seven strikeouts.

Lopez (6-9) did pretty much the same thing to Baltimore during his start -- and he lasted longer. The Orioles only managed three baserunners during Lopez's first five innings, and the right-hander allowed just four hits.

In addition, he struck out six with just one walk. Juan Minaya took care of the final four outs and earned his first save.

The White Sox finally broke through in the sixth against Ramirez thanks to a two-out rally. Yoan Moncada doubled to right, and Sanchez followed by slicing a double into the left field corner that gave Chicago a 1-0 lead and ended Ramirez's night.

The Orioles threatened in the seventh against Lopez, putting runners on first and second with one out. However, Lopez battled back and struck out Tim Beckham and got Renato Nunez to pop out to third.

The White Sox added to the lead when Garcia belted his solo homer to left with two outs in the top of the ninth.

Chicago tried to create some other scoring chances, but Baltimore catcher Caleb Joseph nailed the White Sox on all three of their base-stealing attempts.
