Elvis Andrus and Adrian Beltre each slugged solo homers to help the Texas Rangers defeat the Los Angeles Angels 4-2 on Tuesday night at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas.

Nomar Mazara recorded a two-run double for the Rangers, who won for the third time in the past four games.

Shohei Ohtani homered for the Angels, who have dropped three of their past four contests. David Fletcher had three of Los Angeles' six hits.

Texas left-hander Mike Minor (11-7) allowed two runs and three hits over five-plus innings. He departed after allowing Ohtani's blast to start the sixth.

Minor struck out seven and walked one while winning for the fifth time in his past six starts.

Los Angeles played without left fielder Justin Upton (concussion) for the third consecutive game.

Angels left-hander Andrew Heaney (8-9) allowed four runs and seven hits over six innings. He struck out five and walked one while dropping to 1-6 in 14 road starts this season.

Ohtani's homer to right was his 16th of the season but his first against a left-handed pitcher. It pulled Los Angeles within 4-2.

Ohtani had a chance to do more damage when he came to the plate with two runners on and two outs in the seventh. However, Texas left-hander Martin Perez retired him on a grounder to second base to get out of the jam.

Right-hander Cody Martin worked around shortstop Andrus' error in the eighth, and right-hander Jose Leclerc struck out two during a perfect ninth to record his ninth save. Leclerc is unscored upon in his past 15 appearances, and he has allowed just three hits and struck out 25 over 15 innings during the stretch.

Andrus slammed the first pitch of the fourth inning over the fence in left-center field for his sixth homer of the season to tie the score at 1. One out later, Beltre slugged a 2-1 offering from Heaney over the wall in left for his ninth of the season to put Texas ahead.

The Rangers staged a two-out rally in the fifth as Rougned Odor singled to right and Andrus drew a walk. Mazara followed by sending a two-run double into the left-center-field gap to give Texas a three-run lead.

The Angels plated a run in the opening inning on Andrelton Simmoms' infield out.
