Three Colorado offensive slumps came to an end almost simultaneously Saturday night, propelling the Rockies to a 4-2 victory over host San Diego and snapping the Padres' season-best, four-game winning streak.

The Rockies (73-62) pulled within a half-game of first place in the National League West, a position shared by the Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers, both 74-62.

Down 1-0 after the first of two Hunter Renfroe homers, the Rockies entered the fourth inning at Petco Park having gone scoreless for 19 innings. The first two hitters up in the inning were hitless in 14 at-bats (DJ LeMahieu) and 19 at-bats (Nolan Arenado).

LeMahieu snapped his slump with a solo homer off Padres starter Robbie Erlin that tied the score at 1-1.

Arenado followed with a skid-busting single. Trevor Story followed with a RBI double that put the Rockies ahead to stay. Matt Holliday then hit an RBI single to make it 3-1.

Renfroe hit his second homer of the night leading off the bottom of the fourth against Rockies starter Jon Gray (11-7). Wade Davis picked up his 37th save as the Rockies snapped a two-game losing streak.

Colorado got a run back in the sixth. Story and Holliday opened the inning with back-to-back singles off Erlin before the left-hander struck out Carlos Gonzalez for the third time. Phil Maton then replaced Erlin and gave up a bloop RBI single to center by Ian Desmond.

Erlin (3-5) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.

The Padres' only damage against Gray over six innings game on Renfroe's first multi-homer game of the season and the fourth of his career. Renfroe has 19 homers on the season, with 11 coming in 25 games since Aug. 5.

Gray allowed seven hits and a walk, and he struck out one.
