Charlie Blackmon homered to back six shutout innings from Chad Kuhl as the Colorado Rockies beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 on Monday night in Denver.

Kuhl (1-0) gave up just two hits while fanning four.

Randal Grichuk hit a two-run double, C.J. Cron and Sam Hilliard had two hits each and Alex Colome picked up his first save for Colorado. The Rockies won for the third time in four games.

Aaron Nola (1-2) pitched solidly into the sixth inning for the Phillies, who lost their second straight game. No Philadelphia hitter had more than one hit.

Both teams had a hit in the first inning, but the pitchers controlled the game early on. The Rockies got two on in the third on a one-out double by Jose Iglesias followed by a walk to Connor Joe, but Nola retired the next two hitters.

Blackmon ended the scoreless duel when he launched a 453-foot shot into the Phillies' bullpen to lead off the sixth inning. It was his first of the season.

Nola left after Cron's one-out single. Jose Alvarado came on, and Cron moved to second base on a wild pitch and to third on a groundout. Alvarado bounced two more into the dirt, and Cron scored on the second one to give Colorado a second run.

Nola allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out four in 5 1/3 innings.

Kuhl came out to warm up to start the seventh, but after a visit from manager Bud Black and a trainer, he left the game without throwing a pitch in the inning. He made just 68 pitches on the night.

The Rockies got two more runs in the seventh when Hilliard singled, Blackmon walked with two outs and both came home on Grichuk's double to right.

Colorado reliever Carlos Estevez struggled in the eighth. Alex Bohm and Jean Segura singled to open the inning, and pinch hitter Didi Gregorius' double put the Phillies on the board.

Jhoulys Chacin came on and got J.T. Realmuto to line a comebacker to him, and he doubled off Gregorius at second to end the inning.

Colome pitched around a two-out walk in the ninth.
