Cubs 5, Reds 3:
Alfonso Soriano’s two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth completed Chicago’s comeback and snapped an eight-game losing streak.

After Anthony Rizzo drew a one-out walk against longtime Cubs reliever Sean Marshall (4-4), Soriano drove a 2-2 pitch from Logan Ondrusek over the wall in center field, capping the rally from a pair of two-run deficits.

Carlos Marmol worked around a leadoff single and a two-out walk in the ninth inning to save it for Shawn Camp (3-5), who pitched a perfect eighth.

The Reds took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a leadoff homer by Zack Cozart and an RBI groundout by Ryan Ludwick. Chicago got on the board in the bottom half, scoring a run on Rizzo’s infield single.

Todd Frazier’s solo homer on the first pitch of the fourth inning stretched Cincinnati’s lead back to 3-1, but the Cubs tied it in the sixth on a two-run double by Starlin Castro.

Mike Leake went six innings for the Reds, allowing three runs on six hits. He struck out five and walked two. Chicago starter Chris Volstad also gave up three runs on six hits in six innings, walking two and striking out four.
