Marlins 7, Giants 6:
Chris Coghlan’s three-run blast off Tim Lincecum capped a five-run sixth inning as the host Marlins staved off a late San Francisco rally to even the four-game series.

Rookie Dan Jennings (1-0) pitched a scoreless sixth inning for his first career win. Steve Cishek earned his first save after closer Heath Bell opened the ninth inning by allowing two runs on three hits.

After not allowing a home run in his last eight starts, Lincecum (2-5) gave up a solo homer to Giancarlo Stanton in the fourth inning that cut the Giants’ lead to 2-1.

Melky Cabrera extended the Giants’ lead in the fifth inning with a home run off Josh Johnson before the Marlins exploded for five runs in the sixth. Five of Miami’s first seven batters in the sixth reached base against Lincecum, who remained winless since April 28.

Stanton and John Buck tied the game with RBIs before Coghlan belted his first home run since last June 11. The former NL rookie of the year entered the game batting .106 with one hit in his last 20 at-bats.

Lincecum, who was pulled after Coghlan’s homer, saw his ERA rise to 6.41 after giving up six runs on six hits and four walks over 5 2/3 innings.

One game after the Giants had a season-high 15 hits in their 14-7 win over the Marlins, they had 14 on Friday. Leadoff hitter Gregor Blanco went 3-for-5 with two doubles.
