Nate Schierholtz delivered a two-out, pinch-hit single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the San Francisco Giants a 3-2 win over the visiting Cincinnati Reds on Friday night.

Closer Brian Wilson (5-1) secured the victory with one inning of relief. Jose Arredondo (0-1) took the loss.

The Reds used three relievers in the ninth inning, with Logan Ondrusek serving up Schierholtz's game-winning hit.

Miguel Tejada had two doubles for the second straight night and drove in San Francisco's second run in the fifth. Cody Ross, Aubrey Huff and Aaron Roward also had two hits apiece.

Giants starter Ryan Vogelsong allowed two runs on eight hits in six innings and was denied in his bid to match the franchise record of seven consecutive starts allowing one run or fewer.

Cincinnati's Travis Wood was reached for 10 hits in eight innings but he limited the damage by holding the Giants to two runs.

Brandon Phillips had three hits and Ryan Hanigan added a pair with an RBI for the Reds.
