Ichiro Suzuki broke out of a 1-for-24 slump with two hits and scored two runs as the Seattle Mariners handed the visiting Baltimore Orioles their fourth straight loss, 4-3, Monday afternoon.

Designated hitter Jack Cust had two hits and an RBI, including his second career triple, as the Mariners won for the 10th time in 12 games. Seattle scored twice in the third inning on bases-loaded walks by Orioles starter Jake Arrieta to take a 4-1 lead.

Doug Fister (3-5) had four 1-2-3 innings to win for the first time since April 30. He finished with a career-high nine strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings, allowing seven hits and three runs.

Baltimore crept within 4-3 in the eighth. Nick Markakis singled in a run and Felix Pie (two hits) came home on an error, but the Orioles left two on base. Brandon League pitched the ninth for his 14th save.

Arrieta (6-3) lasted only 2 1/3 innings, giving up four runs on four hits and four walks. Arrieta was hit on the left shin with a line drive by Suzuki to lead off the third. He faced five batters after that, retiring just one.

Orioles designated hitter Vladimir Guerrero’s 14-game hit streak was snapped.
