Hunter got Los Angeles on the board in the first with a two-run single off Kansas City right-hander Kyle Davies, bringing Macier Izturis and Bobby Abreu home.

The Royals got a run back in the third but the Angels kept the pressure on, pushing two more across in the fourth on RBI hits by Juan Rivera and Fransden.

Matsuiā€™s two-run single in the sixth closed the book on Davies (4-4), who has surrendered 11 runs and 15 hits in nine combined innings over his last two starts.

Hunter capped the scoring with a solo blast in the seventh - his eighth blast of the season.
