Alex Rodriguez drove in three runs while Robinson Cano homered for the second straight night in the New Yankees’ 11-4 win over the Cleveland Indians on Thursday.

Dustin Moseley (1-0), who replaced Sergio Mitre in the rotation while Andy Pettitte nurses a groin injury, pitched six strong innings in his first start of the year. He allowed one run on four hits with four strikeouts and two walks.

After loading the bases in each of the first two innings and only scoring once, New York broke the game open with a seven-run seventh that was highlighted by Cano’s 20th homer of the season and Rodriguez’s two-run single.

The Yankees took three of four in the series and held the Indians to one run over 19 consecutive innings before Cleveland got to reliever Chan Ho Park for three runs in the ninth.

The Indians were forced to use six relievers because starter Mitch Talbot left after two innings with a mid-back strain. Frank Herrmann (0-1) was tagged with the loss, but Tony Sipp, Joe Smith and Jess Todd combined to allow nine runs in 2 2/3 innings.

With the game out of hand, Indians manager Manny Acta let infielder Andy Marte pitch the ninth. Marte retired the side in order for the first time since the first inning and managed to strike out Nick Swisher.
