Logan Webb tossed seven shutout innings and hit a two-run triple to lead the San Francisco Giants to a 4-3 victory over the visiting Miami Marlins on Sunday afternoon.

The Giants won three of the four games against the Marlins and have won six of their past eight games. Miami has lost five of its past seven.

Only 58 of Webb's 107 pitches were strikes. And yet he only allowed three hits -- all singles -- and struck out eight while issuing three walks.

Webb excelled despite dealing with a light rain over the first three innings of the game, which caused extended breaks as the grounds crew tried to keep the infield playable.

Jesus Aguilar tried to spark a late Marlins comeback in the eighth when he smacked a 90.8-mph fastball from reliever Matt Wisler and sent it 397 feet over the left field wall for a two-run home run. Aguilar homered for the third consecutive game after entering the series with none.

The Marlins, who scored 10 of their 11 runs in the series in the seventh inning or later, pulled within a run in the ninth on Lewis Brinson's two-out RBI single off closer Tyler Rogers. But Jazz Chisholm grounded out to second to end the game and Rogers picked up his second save of the season.

Marlins rookie Paul Campbell surrendered three runs during his three-inning appearance, all of which came during a 42-pitch second.

Webb delivered the big blow by lining a 91.7-mph fastball from Campbell to center field to score Mauricio Dubon (2-for-4) and Tommy La Stella and give the Giants a 3-0 lead. Dubon's bunt single on the prior at-bat scored Wilmer Flores, who walked and moved over to third on a single by La Stella.

Flores exited the game the following inning after the Giants said he was "under the weather," and was replaced at third by rookie Jason Vosler, who singled in the fifth for his first major league hit.
