Alec Bohm delivered a go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning and the Philadelphia Phillies completed a three-game sweep of the visiting Atlanta Braves with a 2-1 victory on Sunday afternoon.

Rhys Hoskins and Bryce Harper each singled with one out in the eighth, setting the stage for Hoskins to score on Bohm's single up the middle off Chris Martin (0-1).

Jose Alvarado (1-0) pitched a scoreless eighth inning before Hector Neris worked around two walks in the ninth for his first save.

Neris recorded two quick outs but walked Freddie Freeman and Marcell Ozuna before Travis d'Arnaud flied out to right field to end the game.

Philadelphia relied on yet another dominant pitching performance to sweep the Braves in a three-game series for the second time in three years.

The Braves were held to four hits on Sunday and scored just three runs in the season-opening series.

After Zack Wheeler struck out 10 over seven innings in the Phillies' 4-0 victory on Saturday, the Braves' struggles continued against Zach Eflin on Sunday.

Eflin was a model of efficiency, allowing one run on four hits with eight strikeouts and one walk on 80 pitches over seven innings.

Philadelphia took an early 1-0 lead in the second when Andrew Knapp recorded the team's first home run of the season, a 411-foot blast to right field off Ian Anderson.

Anderson struck out seven over five strong innings and also doubled in his first career at-bat.

Atlanta pulled even in the seventh when d'Arnaud turned on a first-pitch curveball from Eflin for a two-out blast to left field.

The Phillies threatened in the bottom of the seventh when Knapp reached third with two outs, but A.J. Minter struck out Roman Quinn to leave him stranded.

Bohm and Knapp had two hits apiece for the Phillies, who begin a three-game home series against the New York Mets on Monday.

Braves leadoff hitter Ronald Acuna Jr. went 0-for-4 and has two hits in his first 12 at-bats. Freeman is looking for his first hit of the season after going 0-for-9 in three games.
