Washington at Buffalo 7:00 PM ET
Washington Capitals forward Marcus Johansson has decimated the Buffalo Sabres en route to recording six points in his last six games overall. After skewering the Sabres with a goal in the Capitals' 3-1 win on Nov. 25 and netting the tying tally in the third period and overtime-winner earlier this week, Johansson looks for an encore on Friday in Buffalo in the finale of the teams' three-game season series.
Columbus at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The Columbus Blue Jackets look to continue their surge toward the top of the Metropolitan Division as they attempt to extend a trio of streaks when they visit the Detroit Red Wings on Friday. Columbus, which has the fewest amount of regulation losses in the league with five, trails Pittsburgh and the New York Rangers for first in the division with several games in hand on both rivals.
St. Louis at New Jersey 7:30 PM ET
The New Jersey Devils look to bounce back quickly and extend their season-opening home point streak when they host the St. Louis Blues on Friday. New Jersey suffered a 5-2 loss in Montreal on Thursday but returns to the friendly confines of Prudential Center, where it owns an 8-0-2 record.
Edmonton at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
The Edmonton Oilers try to avoid finishing their road trip without a victory when they visit the Minnesota Wild on Friday in the finale of their three-game trek. Edmonton settled for one point in the opener on Tuesday, squandering a 3-2 lead in the final minute of the third period at Buffalo before falling in overtime, and came up empty in Philadelphia two nights later as it dropped a 6-5 decision after blowing a two-goal advantage over the final 13 1/2 minutes.
NY Rangers at Chicago 8:30 PM ET
Marian Hossa already has surpassed last season’s goal total and the veteran forward looks to stay hot when his Chicago Blackhawks host the New York Rangers on Friday night. Hossa scored twice in Tuesday’s 4-0 victory over Arizona, which snapped a two-game slide, to push his team-leading total to 14 goals and the 37-year-old from the Czech Republic is four assists shy of 600 for his career.
San Jose at Anaheim 10:00 PM ET
The long goal-scoring drought is over for Corey Perry and the right wing looks to turn it into a hot streak when his Anaheim Ducks host the Pacific Division-rival San Jose Sharks on Friday night. Perry had gone 18 games without a goal before notching his fifth of the season in Wednesday’s 6-5 shootout win over Carolina and has four points in the last three contests.
