Vancouver at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The Vancouver Canucks own a league-high 10 wins away from home and look to build upon that total when they visit the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday in the fourth stop of a seven-game road trip. The Canucks are 2-1-0 on the current trek and extended their success in tight games, improving to 8-0-1 in one-goal decisions following Tuesday's 4-3 victory at Washington. Vancouver would like to continue that success against Pittsburgh after losing four straight meetings - the last three via shootout.
Washington at Carolina 7:00 PM ET
The Washington Capitals look to end their recent struggles when they begin a three-game road trip against the Metropolitan Division-rival Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday. Washington suffered its second consecutive loss and fourth in five contests with a 4-3 setback to Vancouver on Tuesday. "Am I happy where we are? No, not at all," Capitals coach Barry Trotz said, according to CSNWashington.com. "I think we're better than we've shown, but we're not as good as we think we are."
New Jersey at Toronto 7:30 PM ET
A road-heavy schedule hasn't been overly kind to the New Jersey Devils - and now they're heading to Toronto at a time when the hosts are playing their best hockey in a while. The Devils look to halt a five-game winless skid Thursday night as they face the Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre. Toronto has won back-to-back games and recorded points in five straight behind a rejuvenated offense that has piled up an astounding 23 goals over that stretch.
NY Islanders at Ottawa 7:30 PM ET
The streaking New York Islanders look to complete a sweep of the home-and-home series when they visit the Ottawa Senators on Thursday. New York posted a 3-2 victory in the opener of the set on Tuesday as defenseman Thomas Hickey scored at 3:06 of overtime to give the club its seven straight home triumph. The Islanders, who share first place in the Metropolitan Division with Pittsburgh, have won 12 of their last 14 overall contests and are 8-0 beyond regulation this season.
Dallas at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The Detroit Red Wings look to bounce back from a surprising home loss when they host the struggling Dallas Stars on Thursday. The Red Wings' bid for a season-high fifth consecutive victory was derailed in a 4-3 setback to the Florida Panthers on Tuesday - a performance that Detroit coach Mike Babcock termed "brutal." The Red Wings have found their stride on offense, scoring at least four goals in six of the past eight contests.
Buffalo at Tampa Bay 7:30 PM ET
The Buffalo Sabres continue to climb out of the early hole they dug themselves with solid work on the defensive end of the ice and strong goaltending. The Sabres allowed only 11 goals while winning six of their last seven games and look to topple the top-scoring team in the league for the second straight game Thursday when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning. Jhonas Enroth turned aside 26 shots as Buffalo rallied for a 2-1 shootout victory over the Lightning on Tuesday.
Columbus at Florida 7:30 PM ET
After snapping a six-game winless streak by edging Florida earlier in the week, the Columbus Blue Jackets vie for their 10th consecutive victory over the Panthers when the teams reconvene in the Sunshine State on Thursday. Boone Jenner scored the eventual game-winning goal in Monday's 2-1 triumph as Columbus posted just its third victory in 18 contests (3-13-2). Sergei Bobrovsky finished with 24 saves to improve to 7-1-0 in his career against Florida.
St. Louis at Nashville 8:00 PM ET
Martin Brodeur is expected to make his official return to the ice as the future Hall-of-Famer leads the St. Louis Blues into Music City to face the Nashville Predators on Thursday. Signed to a one-year contract on Tuesday, the four-time Vezina Trophy winner will make his first start since April 13 - although he won't be wearing a New Jersey Devils sweater for the first time in his career.
Colorado at Calgary 9:00 PM ET
The Calgary Flames attempt to extend their winning streak to four games when they host the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday. Karri Ramo has played a huge role in Calgary's recent success, posting back-to-back shutouts against San Jose and Arizona on the road before making 27 saves in a 5-2 triumph over the Coyotes at home on Tuesday. The win was the fifth in a row for Ramo and was highlighted by rookie Josh Jooris' first career hat trick.
Los Angeles at Arizona 9:00 PM ET
No team personifies the discrepancy between success at home and struggles on the road more than the Los Angeles Kings, who will try to change the latter when they visit the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday. The reigning Stanley Cup champions lead the league with 11 wins at home but are tied for the fewest victories on the road with only two in 10 games (2-4-4). Los Angeles, which lost at Arizona in overtime in the second game of the season, kicks off a stretch with six of its next seven on the road.
Boston at San Jose 10:30 PM ET
The San Jose Sharks could be without their leading scorer when they wrap up their six-game homestand against the Boston Bruins on Thursday. Logan Couture did not participate in practice Wednesday after exiting San Jose's victory over Philadelphia the previous night with a head injury. The Sharks improved to 2-1-2 on the homestand as Matt Nieto scored with 11.5 seconds remaining in the third period to snap a 1-1 tie.
