November 28, 2015
Philadelphia at NY Rangers 1:30 PM ET
The New York Rangers look to avoid their first three-game skid of the season when they host the Metropolitan Division-rival Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday afternoon. In addition to falling short on the scoreboard Friday, the Rangers lost alternate captain Derek Stepan indefinitely due to the broken ribs he suffered in the team's 4-3 setback at Boston.
Washington at Toronto 7:00 PM ET
The Washington Capitals have regained their offensive touch following three weeks of inconsistent performances and have surged within one point of the first-place New York Rangers in the Metropolitan Division. Winners of four in a row, the Capitals look to continue their streak when they visit the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday to begin a three-game road trip.
New Jersey at Montreal 7:00 PM ET
The Montreal Canadiens look to complete a home-and-home sweep when they host the New Jersey Devils on Saturday. Montreal took the opener of the set in New Jersey on Friday, posting a 3-2 shootout victory to extend its winning streak to four games.
NY Islanders at Tampa Bay 7:00 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Lightning’s three-game winning streak came to an abrupt halt in Washington last time out, but they attempt to start another when they host the New York Islanders on Saturday. The Lightning fell behind by four goals before dropping a 4-2 decision to the surging Capitals on Friday in what captain Steven Stamkos called a “crappy effort.”
Edmonton at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Penguins host the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, and each team hopes to quickly forget about its overtime loss on the road the night before. Pittsburgh lost for the second time in three games after a 2-1 setback in Columbus while Edmonton has dropped three in a row (0-2-1) and six of its last seven (1-4-2) following a 4-3 decision in Detroit, leaving the Oilers with the fewest points in the NHL (16).
Columbus at St. Louis 8:00 PM ET
The St. Louis Blues were one of six NHL teams which did not play Friday after the league took Thanksgiving off and hope to use the extra rest to their advantage when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday. St. Louis has alternated wins and losses over its last six games (3-1-2) while going 3-3-2 in its last eight, prompting coach Ken Hitchcock to tell reporters after Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to Pittsburgh: "We've got too much slowness in our game.''
Buffalo at Nashville 8:00 PM ET
The Nashville Predators return home after a rough road trip and try to right the ship when the Buffalo Sabres pay them a visit on Saturday. The Predators suffered a 3-2 overtime loss at Philadelphia on Friday to finish a 1-3-1 trek on which they produced only five goals, and Pekka Rinne has surrendered 13 goals in his last four games.
Dallas at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
The Minnesota Wild have lost more games on home ice the past two days than they did in the season’s first 48 days, and coach Mike Yeo believes this week’s struggles represent a wake-up call as the Wild host the Dallas Stars Saturday. “This is maybe a good kick in the (rear),” Yeo told reporters after Friday’s 3-1 loss to Winnipeg, spoiling the return of forward Zach Parise from a sprained right knee.
Winnipeg at Colorado 10:00 PM ET
The Colorado Avalanche showed signs of recovering from a slow start to the season on a grueling seven-game road trip and maybe the Avalanche are looking forward to an upcoming four-game road swing. Colorado hosts the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday after a dispirited effort in Wednesday’s 5-3 home defeat to Ottawa as the Avalanche fell behind 4-1 after two periods in dropping to 2-6-1 at home.
Ottawa at Arizona 10:00 PM ET
The Ottawa Senators attempt to extend their winning streak to five games when they wrap up their three-game road trip against the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday. Ottawa improved to 5-0-2 in its last seven overall contests with a 5-3 triumph Wednesday at Colorado.
Calgary at San Jose 10:00 PM ET
The Calgary Flames hope to salvage the finale of their three-game road trip when they visit the San Jose Sharks on Saturday. Calgary dropped a 2-1 overtime decision at Arizona on Friday to fall to 0-1-1 on its trek and 0-2-1 in its last three overall road contests.
Chicago at Los Angeles 10:30 PM ET
After finishing up a five-game road trip, the Los Angeles Kings kick off a five-game homestand with a tough test as they face the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday. Los Angeles, which holds a one-point lead over San Jose atop the Pacific Division, lost in a shootout at Tampa Bay on Wednesday to cap its 2-1-2 trek.
