Preview Roundups
November 17, 2015
San Jose at Boston 7:00 PM ET
After slogging through a four-game homestand in which they won only once, the San Jose Sharks have posted a pair of one-goal victories as they prepare to make the third stop on a six-game road trip against the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night. San Jose will be looking to win three in a row for the first time since opening the season with four straight victories.
Dallas at Buffalo 7:00 PM ET
Lindy Ruff brings the top team in the Western Conference into his old stomping grounds when the Dallas Stars visit the resurgent Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night. Ruff, who coached the Sabres for 16 seasons before he was dismissed in February 2013, has guided the Stars to eight wins in their last 10 contests overall and a 7-1-0 mark in their last eight games.
Los Angeles at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
Philadelphia Flyers forward Brayden Schenn went from the outhouse to the penthouse in short order on Monday. After serving as a healthy scratch in his last game, Schenn was elevated to the team's top line and is expected to remain there when the Flyers host his former team in the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday.
St. Louis at Columbus 7:00 PM ET
The Columbus Blue Jackets continue to dig themselves out a deep early hole and will go after their season-high third consecutive victory when the St. Louis Blues pay a visit Tuesday. The Blue Jackets defeated Arizona 5-2 on Saturday for their first home victory of the season and improved to 6-5-0 since coach John Tortorella took over.
Minnesota at Pittsburgh 7:30 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Penguins' light-scoring offense has forced the club to walk a thin line this season. After winning nine of 10 games despite limited goal support, the Penguins' fortunes have taken a turn for the worse on Tuesday as they look to prevent their fourth loss in five outings when they host the Minnesota Wild.
Colorado at Toronto 7:30 PM ET
The Colorado Avalanche are feeling quite comfortable on the road of late with three straight victories and look to build on that when they visit the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday. Red-hot forwards Nathan MacKinnon and Matt Duchene have led the way for the Avalanche, who knocked off Philadelphia, Boston and Montreal to start a season-long seven-game road trip.
Anaheim at Nashville 8:00 PM ET
The Nashville Predators exploded for seven goals twice in the last three games and hope to continue their onslaught Tuesday when they host the Anaheim Ducks — who are in the process of finding their way in the offensive end — in the season-series finale. Nashville dominated Winnipeg 7-0 on Saturday, improving to 2-1-1 on its five-game homestand, and a tweak to the top two lines by coach Peter Laviolette seemed to spark the Predators.
New Jersey at Calgary 9:00 PM ET
This season's feel-good story takes on the 2014-15 rendition as the visiting New Jersey Devils visit the Calgary Flames on Tuesday. What was expected by many to be a transition year is anything but for New Jersey, which has gotten hot in a hurry by winning 10 of its last 13 contests heading into the opener of its three-game road trip.
