Preview Roundups
October 28, 2018
NY Rangers at Los Angeles 3:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Kings expect to have a familiar face back in the lineup Sunday afternoon as they attempt to halt their six-game losing streak when they host the road-challenged New York Rangers. Former captain Dustin Brown is slated to make his season debut after missing the Kings' first 10 games with a broken finger, suffered in the team's preseason finale.
Dallas at Detroit 5:00 PM ET
The Detroit Red Wings have only one victory on the season and have yet to win at home or in regulation, a pattern they will try to reverse when they host the Dallas Stars on Sunday afternoon. The Stars have lost both away contests this season as they kick off a six-game road trip seeking their fourth consecutive victory in the series against the Red Wings.
NY Islanders at Carolina 5:00 PM ET
The Carolina Hurricanes look to build off a confidence-building comeback victory and avenge a season-opening loss when they host the improving New York Islanders on Sunday. The Hurricanes, who dropped an overtime decision at home on Oct. 4 despite outshooting the Islanders 46-20, battled back from a two-goal deficit Friday to register a 4-3 shootout victory over red-hot San Jose.
Edmonton at Chicago 6:00 PM ET
The Edmonton Oilers aim for their second three-game winning streak of the young season when they visit the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday. Edmonton, which captured three in a row from Oct. 13-18, topped defending Stanley Cup champion Washington at home on Thursday before registering a 5-3 victory in Nashville two days later.
Ottawa at Vegas 8:00 PM ET
The Vegas Golden Knights dropped three in a row at T-Mobile Center only once in their inaugural NHL campaign and look to avoid doing it for the first time this season when they host the Ottawa Senators on Sunday night. The Golden Knights followed up a three-game winning streak by falling to Vancouver in a shootout before losing to Tampa Bay - both by 3-2 scores.
San Jose at Anaheim 8:00 PM ET
The struggling Anaheim Ducks look to match their performance level from Opening Night against San Jose when they begin a four-game homestand Sunday against the Pacific Division-rival Sharks. The Ducks rolled to a 5-2 victory at San Jose on Oct. 3 to ignite a 5-1-1 start, but they have managed just six goals while dropping four straight after Thursday's 5-2 setback against Dallas.
