Preview Roundups
October 27, 2015
Arizona at Boston 7:00 PM ET
The Arizona Coyotes look to conclude their five-game road trip with a third straight victory when they visit the Boston Bruins on Tuesday. Arizona began its trek with setbacks against New Jersey and the New York Rangers that extended its overall losing streak to four games (0-3-1) after opening the season with three consecutive victories.
Columbus at New Jersey 7:00 PM ET
The Columbus Blue Jackets can look to Tuesday's opponent for motivation of how a team can turn its fortunes around following a winless start to the season. After tasting victory for the first time in their eighth contest, the Blue Jackets attempt to begin a winning streak when they visit the red-hot New Jersey Devils.
Buffalo at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
Dave Hakstol knows rookie Jack Eichel all too well - after all, the latter ended his collegiate coaching career by scoring two goals and setting up another to lead Boston University to a 5-3 win over North Dakota in the Frozen Four. Now the coach of the Flyers, Hakstol looks to lead his team to a third straight victory on Tuesday when the 18-year-old Eichel and the Buffalo Sabres pay a visit to the Wells Fargo Center.
Carolina at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
After barely averting a winless four-game road trip through Canada and stopping a four-game slide, the Detroit Red Wings return home to host the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night in the third matchup between the teams this season. Although the teams have split the previous two meetings, the Hurricanes have outplayed Detroit by a wide margin.
Colorado at Florida 7:30 PM ET
The Colorado Avalanche look to avoid a fourth straight loss when they begin a three-game road trip against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday. Colorado has produced nine goals in its last five contests after opening the season by scoring 10 times in its first two games and is averaging fewer than 26 shots, which ranks near the bottom of the NHL.
Tampa Bay at St. Louis 8:00 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Lightning look to wrap up their difficult four-game road trip without a regulation loss when they visit the injury-plagued St. Louis Blues on Tuesday. The Lightning have gained points in five of their six road contests (3-1-2) to start the campaign, including a 1-0 overtime defeat against the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday.
Edmonton at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
Connor McDavid has been as good as advertised since the Edmonton Oilers selected the 18-year-old with the top overall pick of the 2015 draft. With four goals and as many assists during his five-game point streak, McDavid will look to snap the Oilers' two-game skid when they visit the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday.
Los Angeles at Winnipeg 8:00 PM ET
Jonathan Quick is back to resembling one of the top goaltenders in the world, and consequently the Los Angeles Kings look like a Western Conference powerhouse again. Quick has surrendered just four goals in his last four games and the Kings go after their sixth straight win Tuesday against the host Winnipeg Jets -- following a 0-3-0 start to the season.
Anaheim at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
The offensively challenged Anaheim Ducks attempt to break out of their season-long funk when they continue their five-game road trip against the Dallas Stars on Tuesday. Anaheim has totaled one goal in losing the first three contests on its trek and was blanked for the second straight game Monday, when it dropped a 1-0 overtime decision in Chicago.
Montreal at Vancouver 10:00 PM ET
The Montreal Canadiens can match the best start in league history when they go for their 10th consecutive victory at the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night in the opener of a three-game road trip. Montreal has won each of its first nine games in regulation and can join the Toronto Maple Leafs (1993-94) and Buffalo Sabres (2006-07) by opening the season with 10 straight victories.
