Preview Roundups
October 17, 2016
San Jose at NY Rangers 7:00 PM ET
The San Jose Sharks picked up where they left off on the road last season and look to continue their success when they resume their five-game trek Monday against the New York Rangers. San Jose set a franchise record by posting a league-leading 28 wins away from home in 2015-16 and began the road portion of its schedule this campaign with a 3-2 triumph at Columbus on Saturday.
Colorado at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The Colorado Avalanche will need to clamp down defensively when they begin their four-game road trip Monday against the reigning Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins. Colorado waited until Saturday to kick off its season and outlasted Dallas 6-5 at home as Joe Colborne registered his first career hat trick in his debut with the team.
Ottawa at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The Detroit Red Wings will try to find some answers when they begin the final season at Joe Louis Arena on Monday against the unbeaten Ottawa Senators. The Red Wings, who will move into the brand-new Little Caesars Arena for the 2017-18 campaign, allowed a total of 10 goals while losing at Atlantic Division rivals Tampa Bay and Florida to open the season.
Boston at Winnipeg 8:00 PM ET
The Winnipeg Jets' offense was non-existent last time out, save for producing two goals in the fading seconds of the first period, and the club will need to focus on a better effort when it faces the Boston Bruins on Monday in the opener of its three-game homestand. The Jets dropped a 4-3 decision at Minnesota on Saturday, registering a total of only eight shots over the final 40 minutes.
