Preview Roundups
October 13, 2015
Nashville at New Jersey 7:00 PM ET
Fresh off a pair of solid home victories, the Nashville Predators kick off a three-game road trip against Eastern Conference opponents when they visit the winless New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night. Goaltender Pekka Rinne registered his 37th career shutout in Nashville's 2-0 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night and has surrendered one goal in the first two games.
Winnipeg at NY Rangers 7:00 PM ET
The New York Rangers attempt to continue their perfect start to the season when they host the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday. New York has begun 2015-16 with three straight victories, including a 5-2 triumph over Columbus at Madison Square Garden on Saturday that completed a home-and-home sweep.
Montreal at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Penguins were expected to provide plenty of fireworks with the offseason acquisition of five-time 30-goal scorer Phil Kessel. With just one goal in its first two games of the season, Pittsburgh may have a tough time getting untracked when it plays its home opener against reigning Vezina and Hart Trophy winner Carey Price and the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday.
San Jose at Washington 7:00 PM ET
San Jose Sharks coach Peter DeBoer is feeling very confident in his new team - and for good reason. After outscoring its foes 7-1 en route to winning the first two contests, San Jose looks to continue its good fortune when it opens a four-game road trip against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday.
Florida at Carolina 7:00 PM ET
Eddie Lack is expected to make his debut in net for the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday, when they host the Florida Panthers. Lack, who was acquired from Vancouver in the offseason and signed to a contract extension, looks to help the Hurricanes avoid an 0-3-0 start after they wasted a 47-shot performance in a 4-3 loss to Detroit on Saturday.
Tampa Bay at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The Detroit Red Wings look to begin changing their fortunes against the Tampa Bay Lightning when they host the defending Eastern Conference champions on Tuesday. The Lightning have taken seven of the nine regular-season meetings over the last two seasons and rallied to beat the Red Wings in the first round of the playoffs in seven games this past April.
Edmonton at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
After posting one of the more impressive opening wins of the young season, the Dallas Stars came crashing back to earth by allowing five unanswered goals in a 6-3 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday. The Stars look to get back on track when they host top overall draft pick Connor McDavid and the winless Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday.
St. Louis at Calgary 9:00 PM ET
The St. Louis Blues look to continue their dominance of the Calgary Flames when they play the second contest of a six-game road trip Tuesday. The Blues have won 10 of their last 13 meetings with the Flames — including outscoring Calgary by a whopping 12-2 margin to claim all three contests in 2014-15.
Vancouver at Los Angeles 10:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Kings continue their season-opening five-game homestand in search of their first victory when they host the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday. Los Angeles has struggled in the early going, scoring just one goal in each of its first two contests — losses to San Jose and Arizona — while allowing a total of nine.
