Preview Roundups
April 07, 2015
NY Rangers at New Jersey 7:00 PM ET
The New York Rangers fondly remember the 1993-94 season, for it's the last time they've won the Stanley Cup. The Rangers claimed their lone Presidents' Trophy and won a franchise-best 52 games in that campaign and can repeat those two accomplishments should they emerge victorious when they visit the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday.
NY Islanders at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
The New York Islanders can punch their ticket into the playoffs for the second time in three seasons by securing at least one point when they visit the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday. The Islanders, who reside one point behind second-place Washington in the Metropolitan Division, have defeated the Flyers in all three meetings this season - with two coming in a shootout.
Pittsburgh at Ottawa 7:30 PM ET
A three-game losing streak has many questioning whether the Pittsburgh Penguins ultimately are going to find themselves out of the postseason picture. The Penguins can silence the critics and secure a playoff berth with a regulation win when they visit the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday.
Carolina at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The Detroit Red Wings are staggering down the stretch but can extend the longest active postseason streak in league history with a victory over the visiting Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night. Detroit, which has made the playoffs in 23 consecutive seasons, has dropped four of five but can secure a postseason berth with a victory over the Hurricanes coupled with a regulation loss by Ottawa to Pittsburgh.
Winnipeg at St. Louis 8:00 PM ET
While the Winnipeg Jets are fighting just to qualify for the playoffs, the St. Louis Blues are battling for a division title. Both teams continue their quests when the Jets visit the Blues on Tuesday.
Minnesota at Chicago 8:30 PM ET
The Minnesota Wild attempt to strengthen their hold on a postseason berth when they begin their season-ending three-game road trip against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday. Minnesota had an opportunity to clinch a playoff spot Monday but dropped its home finale to Winnipeg, which pulled within two points of the Western Conference wild card-leading Wild with three games remaining.
Nashville at Colorado 9:00 PM ET
The Nashville Predators have been in control of the Central Division for much of the season but their latest losing streak has them looking up at the St. Louis Blues with three games to play. Trailing the Blues by one point and sitting just two ahead of third-place Chicago, the Predators look to halt a three-game skid when they visit the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night.
Arizona at Calgary 9:00 PM ET
The Calgary Flames look to maintain their hold on a postseason berth when they host the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday. Calgary enters the contest even in points with Los Angeles but with possession of third place in the Pacific Division by virtue of the tiebreaker.
Los Angeles at Edmonton 9:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Kings are on the outside of the playoff picture but remain in control of their postseason destiny with a favorable matchup looming at the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday - an opponent they mauled last week. The Kings suffered a 2-1 shootout loss at Vancouver on Monday, leaving them tied on points with Calgary for third place in the Pacific Division and one back of Winnipeg for the second wild card in the Western Conference.
