Preview Roundups
March 30, 2015
Tampa Bay at Montreal 7:30 PM ET
The Montreal Canadiens look to avoid a sweep of the season series on Monday and hand the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning their first three-game losing streak of the campaign. The Canadiens have been outscored 16-5 in four losses against the Lightning, including a 1-0 overtime defeat in the last meeting at Montreal on March 10. Tampa Bay, trailing the first-place Canadiens by three points in the Atlantic Division, comes in off Saturday’s 4-0 loss at Detroit when it lost two key players to injuries.
Vancouver at St. Louis 8:00 PM ET
The Vancouver Canucks look to test their mettle against a bevy of Central Division heavyweights when they open a four-game road trip against the St. Louis Blues on Monday. After winning seven of nine, the Canucks suffered their second straight setback with a 4-3 overtime loss to Dallas on Saturday. Radim Vrbata scored his team-leading 30th goal with 72 seconds remaining in the third period against the Stars and also had a pair of assists in the team's 6-5 shootout win over the Blues on March 1.
Los Angeles at Chicago 8:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Kings look to regain sole possession of third place in the Pacific Division when they wrap up a five-game road trip against the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday. Los Angeles won the first three contests of the trek before suffering a 4-1 setback to Minnesota on Saturday.
Calgary at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
One day after climbing into third place in the Pacific Division, the Calgary Flames look to move up another spot when they continue their road trip against the Dallas Stars on Monday. Calgary skated to a 5-2 triumph over Central Division-leading Nashville on Sunday, moving one point ahead of idle Los Angeles as Lance Bouma recorded his second two-goal performance of the season and Michael Ferland netted his first NHL tally.
Edmonton at Colorado 9:00 PM ET
The Colorado Avalanche remain a long shot to qualify for the postseason, but they attempt to move closer to the goal when they host the Edmonton Oilers on Monday. Colorado, which is the reigning Central Division champion, trails Winnipeg by eight points for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference with seven games remaining. The Avalanche remained alive by posting their second straight victory Saturday, a 5-3 home triumph over Buffalo.
Buffalo at Arizona 10:00 PM ET
While the majority of the league's teams are either jockeying for postseason position or keeping alive their faint playoff hopes, the Buffalo Sabres and Arizona Coyotes very well could have a different target in mind. League-worst Buffalo looks to snap a five-game skid (0-4-1) on Monday as it wraps up its two-game season series with Arizona, which is a staggering 1-14-2 in its last 17 home contests.
