March 29, 2015
Washington at NY Rangers 3:00 PM ET
Rick Nash told the New York Daily News the New York Rangers "don't want to be that team that clinches a playoff spot and sits back." After falling flat in their first game since securing a postseason berth, the Metropolitan Division-leading Rangers look to avoid a third loss in four games when they host the Washington Capitals on Sunday afternoon. Nash scored to reach the 40-goal plateau for the third time in his career but saw his team drop a lackluster 4-2 decision to Boston on Saturday.
Florida at Ottawa 5:00 PM ET
Both teams will try to rebound from dispiriting overtime losses fewer than 24 hours later when the Florida Panthers visit the Ottawa Senators on Sunday. The Senators let a two-goal lead get away in the final 10 minutes of regulation before losing 4-3 at Toronto while Florida gave up a power-play goal in the extra period to lose at Montreal as the two teams lost ground in the playoff chase. Ottawa has beaten the Panthers in two of three games this season, including a 4-1 triumph on Feb. 21.
Detroit at NY Islanders 5:00 PM ET
The New York Islanders look to regain sole possession of second place in the Metropolitan Division when they wrap up a four-game homestand against the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday. The Islanders are winless in their last seven home contests (0-6-1) and have seen Pittsburgh pull even in points with a game in hand. Both New York and Detroit are playing their second contest in as many days after competing in afternoon games on Saturday.
Boston at Carolina 5:00 PM ET
The Boston Bruins look to strengthen their tenuous grasp on the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday. Milan Lucic recorded his 17th career two-goal performance as Boston snapped a six-game skid (0-3-3) with a resounding 4-2 victory over the New York Rangers on Saturday afternoon.
Calgary at Nashville 5:00 PM ET
The Calgary Flames attempt to climb back into a playoff spot as they continue their five-game road trip against the Nashville Predators on Sunday. Calgary lost the opener of its trek on Friday, dropping a 4-2 decision at Minnesota to remain one point behind Los Angeles for third place in the Pacific Division. It was the second straight setback and fifth in seven contests (2-3-2) for the Flames, who began the month with a six-game point streak (5-0-1).
Anaheim at New Jersey 7:00 PM ET
The Anaheim Ducks attempt to expand their lead in the race for the Presidents' Trophy when they visit the New Jersey Devils on Sunday. Anaheim skated to a 3-2 victory over the New York Islanders on Saturday to improve to 2-2-0 on its five-game road trip and clinch a spot in the postseason. The Pacific Division-leading Ducks increased their league-best point total to 103, one more than both Nashville and Montreal.
San Jose at Pittsburgh 7:30 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Penguins look to secure sole possession of second place in the Metropolitan Division when they continue their three-game homestand against the San Jose Sharks on Sunday. Captain Sidney Crosby collected a goal and two assists in just over a four-minute stretch during the third period as the Penguins skated to a 3-2 triumph over Arizona on Saturday.
Chicago at Winnipeg 7:30 PM ET
The teams occupying the two wild-card spots in the Western Conference face off Sunday as the Chicago Blackhawks visit the Winnipeg Jets. Chicago suffered a 5-2 home loss to Columbus on Friday and was overtaken by Minnesota for third place in the Central Division a day later by virtue of the Wild's triumph over Los Angeles.
