Preview Roundups
February 26, 2017
Boston at Dallas 12:30 PM ET
The Boston Bruins are enjoying plenty of success under interim coach Bruce Cassidy and they'll try to cap a four-game road trip in style when they meet the Dallas Stars on Sunday afternoon in the first of two meetings this season. Boston improved to 2-1-0 on its trek and is 5-1-0 since Cassidy took over from Claude Julien after Thursday's 4-1 victory over Los Angeles, improving its position in ultra-tight playoff races in the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference.
Calgary at Carolina 3:00 PM ET
When the Calgary Flames embarked on a five-game road trip that took them from British Columbia to balmy Florida, they were one point clear of Los Angeles for a wild-card spot in the Western Conference and could only hope to come home still in playoff position. Calgary exceeded expectations and is 3-0-1 on the excursion, which concludes Sunday afternoon against the Carolina Hurricanes, to increase its lead to four points on the Kings.
Edmonton at Nashville 5:00 PM ET
The Edmonton Oilers can assure themselves at least a .500 road trip if they can snap an eight-game losing streak against the surging Nashville Predators on Sunday. The Oilers are 2-2-0 on their six-game trek after a 2-1 setback at league-best Washington on Friday and have not beaten Nashville since March 2014, dropping the two previous meetings – one in a shootout.
Columbus at NY Rangers 5:00 PM ET
The New York Rangers attempt to extend their home point streak to seven games when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday for a key battle between Metropolitan Division rivals. New York has gone 5-0-1 at Madison Square Garden since its last regulation loss on Jan. 31 - a 6-4 setback against Columbus.
St. Louis at Chicago 7:30 PM ET
Two Central Division rivals streaking in opposite directions collide Sunday as the Chicago Blackhawks continue their four-game homestand with a matchup against the St. Louis Blues. Chicago has won three in a row, including a 6-3 triumph over Arizona on Thursday to begin the stretch at United Center, and trails division-leading Minnesota by three points.
Ottawa at Florida 7:30 PM ET
The Ottawa Senators are challenging for first place while trying to hold on tight to a playoff position in the crowded Eastern Conference as they visit the Atlantic Division-rival Florida Panthers on Sunday night. The Senators are four points behind division-leading Montreal and two up on the New York Islanders - the ninth-place team in the East - after a disappointing 3-0 loss at Carolina on Friday.
Buffalo at Arizona 8:30 PM ET
The Buffalo Sabres are attempting to snap a five-season playoff drought but have only 21 games with which to work. Buffalo will try to avoid a third consecutive loss and stay within reach of a wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference when they visit the Arizona Coyotes on Sunday.
