Washington at Toronto 7:00 PM ET
The Toronto Maple Leafs are hoping a change in leadership translates into better results. Toronto hosts the Washington Capitals on Wednesday, one day after firing coach Randy Carlyle with the team in the midst of a stretch during which it has lost seven of its last nine games. The Maple Leafs wrapped up a 2-5-0 road trip Saturday, when they took the lead before allowing five unanswered goals en route to a 5-1 defeat at Winnipeg.
Boston at Pittsburgh 8:00 PM ET
Boston Bruins chief executive officer Charlie Jacobs didn't mince words on Tuesday when he labeled the club's play this season as "unacceptable" while noting that the organization's leadership is in a "state of evaluation." Coming off a Presidents' Trophy-winning 117-point campaign, the Bruins are on the outside looking in at the playoff picture heading into Wednesday's road contest versus the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Detroit at Calgary 9:30 PM ET
After having four days to reflect on a disappointing loss, the Calgary Flames resume their six-game homestand Wednesday against the Detroit Red Wings. Calgary began its stretch of contests at Scotiabank Saddledome in impressive fashion, limiting Edmonton and Los Angeles to one goal in victories before knocking off the Oilers in overtime last Wednesday.
NY Rangers at Anaheim 10:30 PM ET
The league-leading Anaheim Ducks look to pick up where they left off as they continue their season-high eight-game homestand against the surging New York Rangers on Wednesday. Corey Perry scored his first goal since returning from a knee injury as Anaheim skated to a 4-3 shootout win over Nashville on Sunday to improve to 12-3-1 in its last 16 contests.
