Preview Roundups
November 21, 2017
Mississippi at Utah 12:30 AM ET
Utah and Ole Miss, two teams not expected to do much in conference play but off to 3-0 starts, face off Monday night in the first round of the four-team MGM Resorts Main Event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The other two teams, Rice and UNLV, will play prior to the contest between the Utes and Rebels with both the winners and losers playing each other on Wednesday night.
Iowa at South Dakota State 12:00 PM ET
Iowa will have to regroup from its first loss of the season when it takes on South Dakota State on Tuesday in the consolation bracket of the Cayman Islands Classic. The Hawkeyes couldn't climb all the way out of a 24-point hole in an 80-71 loss to Louisiana and will need to defeat the Jackrabbits for a chance at fifth place.
Marquette at Wichita St. 1:30 PM ET
Sixth-ranked Wichita State survived a scare in its opening game of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational and hopes for a more complete effort when it meets Marquette in Tuesday's semifinals at Lahaina Civic Center. The Shockers recovered from an 18-point, second-half deficit to produce a 92-82 victory over California on Monday, while Marquette advanced with a 94-83 win over Virginia Commonwealth.
Pittsburgh at Oklahoma State 3:30 PM ET
The rigors of the ACC schedule are still weeks away for Pittsburgh, but it needs to figure some things out before the non-conference slate becomes a wash. The Panthers will try to bounce back from another embarrassing defeat when they take on Oklahoma State on Tuesday in the consolation game of the Progressive Legends Classic in Brooklyn, N.Y.
VCU at California 4:00 PM ET
California appeared to lack a go-to scorer entering the season, but junior guard Don Coleman has settled that issue. Coleman will look to score 30-plus points for the fourth time this season when the Golden Bears face Virginia Commonwealth on Tuesday in the consolation round of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational at the Lahaina Civic Center.
Penn St. at Texas A&M 6:00 PM ET
Robert Williams showed no rust in his season debut for No. 19 Texas A&M and he gives his team plenty to feel good about entering Tuesday's matchup with Penn State in the title game of the Progressive Legends Classic in Brooklyn, NY. Williams, who sparkled as a freshman last season before choosing to forgo the NBA draft and return to College Station, served a two-game suspension to start this campaign but hit the ground running in Monday's 72-55 win over Oklahoma State.
Houston Baptist at Virginia Tech 7:00 PM ET

With the exception of a one-game blip, Virginia Tech has been one of the most productive offensive teams in the nation in the early part of the season. The Hokies hope to continue that trend when they host Houston Baptist on Tuesday in the final game of the 2K Classic.

Southern Illinois at Louisville 7:00 PM ET
No. 18 Louisville might have an unblemished record, but its play through two games has been anything but perfect. The Cardinals will look to straighten things out Tuesday night as they host Southern Illinois.
Bryant at Rutgers 7:00 PM ET
Undefeated Rutgers continues the soft non-conference portion of its schedule when it hosts Bryant on Tuesday. The Scarlet Knights have won three of their first four games by at least 25 points.

Richmond at Cincinnati 7:30 PM ET
It's not often that Gary Clark leads No. 13 Cincinnati in scoring, but he did Monday to send his team to the semifinals of the Cayman Islands Classic, where the Bearcats will play Richmond on Tuesday. Clark had 24 points, one shy of matching his career high, and recorded his 20th career double-double with 14 rebounds as the Bearcats beat Buffalo 73-67 to earn a date against the Spiders.
Wisconsin at UCLA 7:30 PM ET
Wisconsin hopes to avoid a three-game losing streak when it takes on 23rd-ranked UCLA in the consolation game of the Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City on Tuesday. The Badgers started the season with two impressive wins before losing by 10 points to Xavier and seeing their furious rally come up short in a 70-65 setback against 24th-ranked Baylor in Monday’s semifinals.
Alabama A&M at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
No. 15 Minnesota continues an early-season learning experience when it welcomes winless Alabama A&M on Tuesday night. The Golden Gophers passed a big road test last week at Providence and followed that up by knocking off two opponents at home, including a 92-64 victory over Western Carolina on Sunday after battling foul trouble and struggles on the defensive end in the first half.
New Orleans at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
Returning just two letter winners from a season ago - tied for the fewest in Division I - Memphis coach Tubby Smith knew it would take time for his young squad to come together. He got his first win of the young season last week behind solid play by his one returning star, and he hopes his squad will take another step forward when winless New Orleans visits on Tuesday.
Texas Southern at Kansas 8:00 PM ET
Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk can sometimes be an afterthought on a Kansas team which includes the Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year (Devonte' Graham) and the conference's newcomer of the year selection (Malik Newman), but he's made opponents pay for that stance in the early going. The second-ranked Jayhawks hope to ride their sharpshooter a bit longer Tuesday when they host Texas Southern.
Michigan at Chaminade 8:00 PM ET
After falling into the consolation bracket of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational with a narrow loss to LSU, Michigan looks to bounce back Tuesday against Division II Chaminade at the Lahaina Civic Center. The Wolverines blew a late lead and fell 77-75 to LSU in Monday’s first-round game despite a career-high 28 points from junior guard Charles Matthews.
Texas-Arlington at Alabama 9:00 PM ET

Sensational freshmen face off against seasoned veterans when Alabama hosts UT Arlington on Tuesday in a Barclays Center Classic matchup of undefeated teams. The Crimson Tide are led by one of the nation’s top recruiting classes, while the Mavericks are a rarity in today’s college game as they start five seniors.

Baylor at Creighton 10:00 PM ET
Freshman guard Mitch Ballock hopes to make it an even more special homecoming when his unbeaten Creighton team takes on 24th-ranked Baylor in the championship game of the Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City on Tuesday. The 6-5 Ballock celebrated playing a little more than 30 minutes away from his hometown of Eudora, Kan. by scoring a season-high 22 points in the Bluejays’ 100-89 victory over UCLA in Monday’s semifinals.
Notre Dame at Louisiana State 10:30 PM ET
The island breeze apparently agrees with Notre Dame seniors Matt Farrell and Bonzie Colson, who opened the Maui Invitational with dominating performances. The high-scoring duo look to continue their hot shooting Tuesday as the No. 12 Fighting Irish face LSU in the semifinals at the Lahaina Civic Center.
