Preview Roundups
December 13, 2016
Memphis at Cleveland 7:00 PM ET
The Memphis Grizzlies just walloped one of the participants in last season's NBA Finals and now they look to beat the other when they visit the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday. Memphis dominated the Golden State Warriors from start to finish on Saturday and led by as many as 30 points before settling for a 110-89 trouncing.
Orlando at Atlanta 7:30 PM ET
The Atlanta Hawks seem to be pulling themselves out of a funk that saw them drop 10 of 11 games and will try to pick up their third consecutive win when they host the Orlando Magic on Tuesday. The Hawks overcame a 20-point deficit in a 114-110 win at Milwaukee on Friday and saw it as a big step in the right direction.
Minnesota at Chicago 8:00 PM ET
Tom Thibodeau returns to Chicago for the first time as a visiting head coach when the Minnesota Timberwolves tangle with the Bulls on Tuesday. Thibodeau went 255-139 and coached the Bulls into the playoffs in each of his five seasons but his relationship with upper management soured and he was fired following the 2014-15 campaign and replaced by Fred Hoiberg.
Golden State at New Orleans 8:00 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors were on the verge of dropping back-to-back regular-season games for the first time since 2015 before exploding in the fourth quarter at Minnesota on Sunday. The Warriors will try to carry that momentum south when they visit the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday.
New York at Phoenix 9:00 PM ET
Despite all the drama constantly surrounding the New York Knicks, the team would have homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs if the season ended today. The Knicks will try to pull off their seventh win in eight games when they continue their road trip by visiting the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday.
Oklahoma City at Portland 10:30 PM ET
Russell Westbrook's epic streak of triple-doubles is over and the Oklahoma City star is focused on helping the Thunder win for the eighth time in the past nine games when they visit the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday. Westbrook posted seven straight triple-doubles before falling four assists shy of another during Sunday's 99-96 victory over the Boston Celtics.
