Atlanta at Washington 7:00 PM ET
An early matchup of Eastern Conference playoff contenders is on tap Tuesday when the Washington Wizards host the Atlanta Hawks. The Wizards have the second best record in the East and are coming off a 111-100 victory at Milwaukee on Saturday — their fifth win in six games. The Hawks have won five of their last seven after snapping a two-game skid with a 99-89 win over visiting Detroit on Friday.
Golden State at Miami 7:30 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors are off to the best 12-game start in franchise history and are showing off the depth of the roster while battling through some injuries. The Warriors will aim for their sixth straight win when they continue a five-game road trip at the Miami Heat on Tuesday. The Heat have leaned on the defense in back-to-back victories and won three of the last four despite Dwyane Wade sitting out with a hamstring injury.
Detroit at Milwaukee 8:00 PM ET
As Detroit struggles out of the gate under first-year head coach Stan Van Gundy, the man tasked with turning around the franchise, it comes down to the most basic of principles - making shots. In the case of the Pistons, they don't make enough, an issue they will try to correct Tuesday at Milwaukee. Detroit has lost four in a row, the latest a 99-89 setback in Atlanta on Friday in which the Pistons shot 37.3 percent from the floor to drop their season average to 41 percent, 29th in the NBA.
Sacramento at New Orleans 8:00 PM ET
Anthony Davis looks to continue his scorching start to the season when the New Orleans Pelicans host the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday. Davis poured in a career-high 43 points and was virtually unstoppable in the 106-94 victory over the Utah Jazz on Saturday. Davis scored 28 points in the 106-100 win over the Kings on Nov. 18 and now hopes to help the Pelicans snap a two-game home losing skid to Sacramento, which has won the last two meetings at Smoothie King Center by an average of 11 points.
Chicago at Denver 9:00 PM ET
The Chicago Bulls just got Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol back and will immediately test both stars out with a back-to-back. The Bulls will try to put together consecutive wins when they visit the Denver Nuggets on the fifth stop of a seven-game trip Tuesday. Gasol (calf) returned from a three-game absence while Rose (hamstring) came back after missing four on Monday and the two combined for 41 points in a 97-95 win over Utah.
