Preview Roundups
November 23, 2014
L.A. Clippers at Memphis 6:00 PM ET
The Los Angeles Clippers are in the midst of playing seven games in 11 days - all on the road - but will face their biggest challenge of the trip Sunday against the surging Memphis Grizzlies. Memphis is off to an 11-2 start and is 48-17 in the calendar year - both records best in the NBA - and has won a franchise-record 21 consecutive home games.
Portland at Boston 6:00 PM ET
The Portland Trail Blazers attempt to stretch their winning streak to seven games when they visit the Boston Celtics on Sunday. Portland routed the Chicago Bulls 105-87 on Friday before making the trek east and hasn’t lost since falling to the Los Angeles Clippers on Nov. 8. Boston has lost four of its past five games after suffering a 117-100 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday and has also dropped three straight to the Trail Blazers.
Charlotte at Miami 6:00 PM ET
The short-handed Miami Heat aim for a second straight victory when they host the struggling Charlotte Hornets on Sunday. The Hornets have lost four straight and six of seven after blowing a 23-point lead in a 105-100 loss to Orlando on Friday. They haven't looked like the same team that beat Miami 96-89 on Nov. 5 in Charlotte, snapping a 16-game regular-season losing streak against the Heat.
Golden State at Oklahoma City 7:00 PM ET
The Oklahoma City Thunder are digging themselves a deeper hole than they need in the loaded Western Conference. The Golden State Warriors will try to take advantage of the ailing Thunder when they visit Oklahoma City on Sunday. The Thunder are just trying to stay close enough to contention so that they will be able to make a push when Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook return, but a five-game slide has them in last place in the Western Conference.
Denver at L.A. Lakers 9:30 PM ET
The Denver Nuggets will try for their fourth consecutive victory when they play the host Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night. The Nuggets began their longest winning streak of last season—seven games—in late November as well, and will be trying to win seven straight against the Lakers overall. Los Angeles had a two-game winning streak going before they were blown out by the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night.
