Preview Roundups
November 20, 2015
Philadelphia at Charlotte 7:00 PM ET
The Philadelphia 76ers are creeping closer to some dubious history and seem to be getting further away from their first win. The Charlotte Hornets will look to hand them a 13th straight loss to start the season when they host the 76ers on Friday.
Brooklyn at Boston 7:30 PM ET
The Boston Celtics have extra incentive to win each of the four times they play the Brooklyn Nets this season, beginning with a matchup in Boston on Friday. The Celtics own the Nets' first-round picks in 2016 and 2018 (and can swap its pick with Brooklyn in 2017) and - given Brooklyn's 2-10 start - figure to get a lottery pick next spring.
Houston at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
Interim coach J.B. Bickerstaff was victorious in his debut and looks to make it two straight when the Houston Rockets visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday. Bickerstaff and the Rockets posted a 108-103 overtime win against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday - hours after the club fired Kevin McHale.
Detroit at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
The Detroit Pistons endured a rough six-game road trip that included four straight losses to close things out before returning home and shocking the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday. The Pistons will try to carry some of that momentum when they hit the road again to visit the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.
San Antonio at New Orleans 8:00 PM ET
The New Orleans Pelicans can’t seem to find a win and are struggling to find enough healthy bodies to fill out the rotation. The San Antonio Spurs are winners of six straight and will try to take advantage of the shorthanded Pelicans when they host New Orleans on Friday.
New York at Oklahoma City 8:00 PM ET
The Oklahoma City Thunder hope to get former MVP Kevin Durant back from a hamstring strain in time for Friday's matchup with New York, but they also know that Russell Westbrook has the ability to shoulder the load by himself. The star guard maintained his outstanding play with Durant on the sidelines with 43 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in Wednesday's 110-103 win over New Orleans.
Utah at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
The Dallas Mavericks look to record their 10th consecutive home win over Utah when they host the Jazz on Friday. The Mavericks have won 23 of the past 26 home meetings against Utah, with the Jazz last winning in Dallas on Jan. 9, 2010.
Phoenix at Denver 9:00 PM ET
The Phoenix Suns trounced Denver last Saturday and attempt to register another victory over the host Nuggets on Friday. Guard Eric Bledsoe operated at will with 30 points in three quarters as the Suns led by as many as 37 points while running off with a 105-81 victory.
L.A. Clippers at Portland 10:00 PM ET
The Portland Trail Blazers attempt to halt a seven-game losing streak when they host the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday. Portland will be the more-rested squad as Los Angeles blew a 23-point lead and lost to the Golden State Warriors late Thursday night and then traveled to Portland.
Chicago at Golden State 10:30 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors are the fifth team in NBA history to start a season 13-0 and attempt to remain undefeated when they host the Chicago Bulls on Friday. The Warriors dodged their first loss Thursday when they recovered from a 23-point deficit to record a 124-117 road victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.
Toronto at L.A. Lakers 10:30 PM ET
The Toronto Raptors have dropped the first three legs of their five-game road trip but are coming up on their best chance to steal a win. The Raptors will try to snap their three-game slide when they visit the lowly Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.
