Preview Roundups
October 30, 2019
Chicago at Cleveland 7:00 PM ET
The Chicago Bulls will cap off a road-heavy opening stretch when they visit the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday. The contest is the fourth on the road in the first five games for the Bulls, who then play eight of their first 11 November contests in the Windy City.
New York at Orlando 7:00 PM ET
The New York Knicks earned their first victory of the season last time out at home and play four of the next five on the road, beginning with a trip to Orlando to take on the Magic on Wednesday night. New York rebounded from being routed in its home opener against Boston by pounding Chicago on the boards and getting another strong performance from rookie small forward RJ Barrett to beat visiting Chicago 105-98 on Monday.
Minnesota at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
The Philadelphia 76ers began the season as one of the favorites in the Eastern Conference and did nothing through the first week that would lower those lofty expectations. The 76ers will try to make it a 4-0 start when they host the fellow undefeated Minnesota Timberwolves.
Milwaukee at Boston 7:30 PM ET
Kemba Walker has settled in nicely for the Boston Celtics following a sluggish opener and the star point guard will try to raise his game a bit more when his team hosts the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday. After scoring 12 points on 4-of-18 shooting in a season-opening loss at Philadelphia, Walker is averaging 27 points in two victories.
Indiana at Brooklyn 7:30 PM ET
The Brooklyn Nets have endured an emotional roller coaster over the first few games, while the Indiana Pacers have followed only a downward trajectory. Both teams will try to climb out of the depths following difficult losses when they meet Wednesday in Brooklyn.
Detroit at Toronto 7:30 PM ET
The defending champion Toronto Raptors are off to another hot start with Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam leading the way. The Raptors will try to make it four wins in five games to begin the season when they host the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday.
Houston at Washington 8:00 PM ET
James Harden's first 40-point outing of the season is in the books and the Houston star guard aims for another highly productive outing when the Rockets visit the Washington Wizards on Tuesday. Harden registered 28 outings of 40 or more points last season when he led the NBA with a 36.1 scoring average.
Portland at Oklahoma City 8:00 PM ET
The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Portland Trail Blazers in all four meetings last season. Of course, the cast will be dramatically different when the Thunder host Portland on Wednesday in the first of this season's three meetings.
L.A. Clippers at Utah 10:00 PM ET
Superstar forward Kawhi Leonard seeks to continue his strong start when the Los Angeles Clippers visit the Utah Jazz on Wednesday. Leonard topped 20 points in all four games, including two 30-point efforts, while quickly becoming a force for his new club.
Charlotte at Sacramento 10:00 PM ET
The Charlotte Hornets have dropped three games by double digits since winning their season opener at home and look to begin turning things around when they visit the winless Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night. The Hornets lost on back-to-back nights in Los Angeles versus the Lakers and the Clippers by a combined 34 points, but were within three or fewer in both of the games at halftime.
Phoenix at Golden State 10:30 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors rebounded from a pair of embarrassing losses to begin the season by outlasting the New Orleans Pelicans 134-123 on Monday, but not all the issues are solved. The Warriors will try to fill more cracks in the game plan when they host the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.
