Preview Roundups
March 31, 2013
Toronto at Washington 6:00 PM ET
The Washington Wizards have been a different team at home than on the road, and they'll aim for their seventh straight victory at Verizon Center when they host the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. The Raptors are trying to sweep a quick two-game road trip after winning 99-82 at Detroit on Friday to snap a five-game skid. The Wizards are coming off consecutive road losses to Oklahoma City and Orlando, but they're riding their longest home winning streak since a 10-game run in 2006-07.
Cleveland at New Orleans 6:00 PM ET
The Cleveland Cavaliers are mired in their worst losing streak of the season as they meet the host New Orleans Hornets on Sunday. Cleveland has lost seven straight games after a lethargic 97-87 defeat to the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday and has the third-worst record in the NBA. New Orleans has the second-worst mark in the Western Conference and has lost back-to-back games following a rare three-game winning streak. The Cavaliers won the lone previous meeting this season.
Detroit at Chicago 7:00 PM ET
The Chicago Bulls ended the most talked about streak in the NBA earlier this week, and now they'll try to continue a lengthy run of their own when they shoot for an 18th consecutive win over the Detroit Pistons on Sunday at United Center. Chicago was unable to continue the momentum after snapping Miami's 27-game winning streak Wednesday, as the Bulls lost 100-98 at Dallas on Saturday. Chicago has dropped to sixth place in the Eastern Conference, a half-game behind Atlanta.
Miami at San Antonio 7:00 PM ET
The top two teams in the NBA meet up Sunday when the Miami Heat visit the San Antonio Spurs. The contest is huge in terms of the battle for home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. Miami currently has a two-game edge over San Antonio and would hold a commanding lead if it completes a sweep of the season series. The Heat have won 28 of their past 29 games while San Antonio has won six of its last seven.
Boston at New York 7:30 PM ET
The streaking New York Knicks look for their eighth consecutive victory when they host the Boston Celtics on Sunday. The Knicks posted a 15-point victory in Boston on Tuesday behind hot-shooting J.R. Smith for win No. 5 in their season-long winning streak. That defeat was the fifth in a row for the Celtics, who have since bounced back with two consecutive victories. New York is 2-1 against Boston this season and sports a 26-10 home mark.
