Preview Roundups
March 16, 2013
Phoenix at Washington 7:00 PM ET
The Washington Wizards will try to run their home winning streak to five games when they host the struggling Phoenix Suns on Saturday. The Suns will also be looking for their sixth straight win at Verizon Center, where they haven't lost since Jan. 15, 2005. Phoenix has won 10 straight overall in the series and 11 of the last 12.
Charlotte at Boston 7:30 PM ET
The Boston Celtics have been one of the best teams in the NBA since the All-Star break - except when they play the Charlotte Bobcats. The Celtics will be looking to avenge a pair of recent losses when they host the Bobcats on Saturday. Boston had a six-game winning streak come to an end at Charlotte on Feb. 11 and suffered a 100-74 loss there on Tuesday. Home has been much better for the Celtics, who have won 10 straight in their building.
Indiana at Philadelphia 7:30 PM ET
The Indiana Pacers have hit a bit of a skid over the last 10 days, dropping three of their last five and showing some cracks on defense. The Pacers will try to bounce back from their latest setback when they visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday. Indiana caught a break when Kobe Bryant was unable to continue past the first quarter on Friday but still could not overcome the Los Angeles Lakers in a 99-93 setback.
Memphis at Utah 10:00 PM ET
The Memphis Grizzlies have lost twice in the last 16 games – to the only two NBA teams who are hotter than them with one month left in the season. Memphis ends a four-game road trip when it faces the Utah Jazz on Saturday, one night after becoming the 11th consecutive foe to fall to the Denver Nuggets. The Grizzlies’ only other loss during their torrid stretch came against the Miami Heat, who have recorded 21 consecutive victories.
Detroit at Portland 10:00 PM ET
The Detroit Pistons look to snap a seven-game losing streak on Saturday when they visit the Portland Trail Blazers, who are coming off an impressive win over the New York Knicks. The Pistons have lost 10 of their last 11, and they fell to 4-23 against Western Conference opponents with a 105-97 loss at Golden State on Wednesday. Detroit is seeking a season sweep of Portland after winning by seven on Nov. 26.
