Preview Roundups
January 31, 2016
Chicago at L.A. Clippers 3:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Clippers’ internal issues are not spilling over to the product on the court, and the latest winning streak is at three in a row. The Clippers will try to make it four straight and 15 of 18 without Blake Griffin when they host the Chicago Bulls on Sunday.
Atlanta at Miami 6:00 PM ET
The Atlanta Hawks went undefeated in January last year en route to a 60-win season, but the opening month of 2016 has been difficult for the defending Central Division champions. The Hawks limp into Sunday’s contest at the Miami Heat sitting at 6-8 for the month, and All-Star forward Paul Millsap was lost to a left ankle sprain in Thursday’s 111-92 loss at Indiana.
Boston at Orlando 6:00 PM ET
A pair of teams headed in opposite directions meet for the second time in three days when the surging Boston Celtics visit the Orlando Magic on Sunday. The Celtics pulled away for a 113-94 win over the Magic at home on Friday night, running their winning streak to a season-high five and handing Orlando its eight consecutive loss.
Phoenix at Dallas 7:00 PM ET
The Phoenix Suns have dropped 13 straight road games and are in danger of being swept on their current four-game excursion. The Suns will try to avoid another losing trip when they wrap things up by visiting the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday.
Golden State at New York 7:30 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors look to push their current winning streak to seven when they visit Madison Square Garden to face the New York Knicks on Sunday night. The Warriors (43-4) continued their historic run by pulling out a surprisingly-tough 108-105 victory at Philadelphia (7-41) on Saturday as Harrison Barnes nailed a last-second 3-pointer.
Minnesota at Portland 9:00 PM ET
The Portland Trail Blazers are taking advantage of a lengthy homestand to jump into the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference. The Trail Blazers will try to improve to 4-1 on the seven-game homestand and earn their fourth straight win when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday.
Charlotte at L.A. Lakers 9:30 PM ET
The Charlotte Hornets have a great chance to end their four-game road trip with a 2-2 mark when they visit the struggling Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. The Hornets got off to a great start on the trip with a thrilling double-overtime win in Sacramento but have been noncompetitive in dropping the last two games.
