Star center Joel Embiid will be on the sidelines when the Philadelphia 76ers host the rival Boston Celtics on Thursday. Embiid dislocated his left ring finger during Monday's victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder with the digit pointing in a grotesque direction at one point before he returned to the game.

The Portland Trail Blazers are at the end of a five-game road trip and gave themselves a chance to come out ahead on the excursion when Carmelo Anthony buried the go-ahead shot in a 101-99 triumph at Toronto on Tuesday. Anthony and the Trail Blazers will try to keep the intensity up when they close the trip by visiting the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday.
Houston at Oklahoma City 9:30 PM ET
Houston point guard Russell Westbrook returns to Oklahoma City for the first time as a visiting player when the Rockets face the Thunder on Thursday. Westbrook was an eight-time All-Star in 11 seasons with Oklahoma City and won NBA MVP honors for his superb 2016-17 season that included a record 42 triple-doubles.
