Preview Roundups
January 06, 2020
Indiana at Charlotte 7:00 PM ET
Just when it looked as if they might plunge toward the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings, the Charlotte Hornets swept a two-game road trip in impressive fashion. They will try to match their longest winning streak of the season at three in a row when they return home to take on the Indiana Pacers on Monday.
Brooklyn at Orlando 7:00 PM ET
The Brooklyn Nets are averaging just over 20 points in the fourth quarter during a five-game losing streak and look to pull out of the tailspin when they visit the inconsistent Orlando Magic on Monday night. The Nets trailed by three points at home after three quarters Saturday before suffering a 121-102 setback against Toronto, and coach Kenny Atkinson told reporters his team has to figure why the final 12 minutes have become a problem.
Oklahoma City at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
A frustrating four-game road trip is finally over for the Philadelphia 76ers, who host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday in the opener of a two-game homestand. The 76ers dropped all four on the trip and are losers of seven of 10 overall.
Boston at Washington 7:00 PM ET
The Boston Celtics pursue a fifth consecutive road win when they visit the Washington Wizards on Monday. Playing without Kemba Walker (illness) for the second straight time, the Celtics got past the Chicago Bulls 111-104 to begin their two-game road trip Saturday night.
Denver at Atlanta 7:30 PM ET
The Atlanta Hawks are winners of two of three following a 10-game slide as they attempt to pull out of the basement in the Eastern Conference. The Hawks will try to win back-to-back games for the first time since the opening two games of the season when they host the struggling Denver Nuggets on Monday.
Utah at New Orleans 8:00 PM ET
The Utah Jazz are quietly climbing the standings in the Western Conference and look like one of the best teams in the league with wins in five straight and 10 of 11. The Jazz will try to make it six straight and sweep a three-game road trip when they visit the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday.
Chicago at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
After blowing a late lead at home against one sub-.500 Eastern Conference team, the Dallas Mavericks will try to finish on top against another when they host the Chicago Bulls on Monday. The Mavericks opened their six-game homestand with a 12-point win over Brooklyn on Thursday and they led the Charlotte Hornets by 12 with under nine minutes remaining Saturday before falling 123-120 in overtime.
Milwaukee at San Antonio 8:30 PM ET
The San Antonio Spurs failed to knock superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo off his game in a Saturday night matchup in Milwaukee. They'll get another shot at Antetokounmpo and his Bucks when the teams complete a home-and-home set at San Antonio on Monday.
Golden State at Sacramento 10:00 PM ET
The Sacramento Kings were on the verge of back-to-back wins but instead dropped a 117-115 decision at home to the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday to fall for the ninth time in 10 games. The Kings will try to pull out of the rut again when they host the Golden State Warriors on Monday.
