Cincinnati at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET
Andrew McCutchen has been flexing his muscles with five of his last six hits leaving the park. Fresh off his third career three-homer performance, McCutchen looks to continue the power surge on Tuesday as the Pirates begin an eight-game homestand with the opener of a three-game series versus the Cincinnati Reds.
Detroit at NY Yankees 7:05 PM ET
The New York Yankees were big winners on and off the field Monday, acquiring one of the most coveted pitchers on the trade market just hours before routing the visiting Detroit Tigers. New York added a potential ace in right-hander Sonny Gray and has won seven of eight entering the second of the three-game series against the Tigers.
Kansas City at Baltimore 7:05 PM ET
It looked like the Kansas City Royals would be the team receiving the most phone calls from contending teams when they were eight games under .500 on June 9, but things changed quite a bit in the last eight weeks. The Royals held onto all of their key players at the trade deadline on Monday and will try to continue making up ground in the American League Central when they visit the Baltimore Orioles for the second of a three-game series on Tuesday.
Cleveland at Boston 7:10 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox got the bullpen piece they needed at the trade deadline on Monday but watched the rival New York Yankees swing the biggest deal in the American League by nabbing right-hander Sonny Gray from the Oakland Athletics. The Red Sox, who sit a half-game behind the Yankees in the AL East, will try to make up some ground at the expense of another division leader when they host the Cleveland Indians in the second of a three-game set on Tuesday.
Washington at Miami 7:10 PM ET
Max Scherzer has not lost since June 21 but he will get a chance to avenge that defeat when the Washington Nationals continue a three-game series at the Miami Marlins on Tuesday. Scherzer will have a tough act to follow after teammate Gio Gonzalez took a no-hitter into the ninth inning of Washington's 1-0 victory in Monday's series opener.
LA Dodgers at Atlanta 7:35 PM ET
The Los Angeles Dodgers own baseball’s best record, have won eight games in a row and lost just twice since the Fourth of July entering the opener of a three-game series Tuesday at the Atlanta Braves. Sunday’s 3-2, 11-inning victory over San Francisco pushed the Dodgers’ record to 74-31 on the season, and the good news continued on Monday’s off day as Los Angeles acquired Texas ace Yu Darvish at the trade deadline.
St. Louis at Milwaukee 7:40 PM ET
The Milwaukee Brewers are mired in quite the funk, with losses in 11 of their last 14 to relinquish their spot atop the National League Central in addition to setting a franchise record by going hitless in their last 31 at-bats with runners in scoring position. The Brewers attempt to stop the bleeding on Tuesday as they open a pivotal three-game series against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals.
Seattle at Texas 8:05 PM ET
The Seattle Mariners have picked up their play away from home in a big way following a lousy start to the season, and continued road success in August figures to be a major factor as to whether or not they can end a 15-year postseason drought. The Mariners, who began a stretch in which they play 21 of 28 away from Safeco Field on Monday, hope to keep rolling on the road one day later as they continue their three-game series against the Texas Rangers.
Arizona at Chi. Cubs 8:05 PM ET

A pair of playoff contenders go head-to-head when the Chicago Cubs play host to the Arizona Diamondbacks for a three-game series beginning Tuesday. The Cubs are 13-3 since the All-Star break and stand 2 1/2 games ahead of Milwaukee in the National League Central - the defending World Series champions’ largest lead of the season - while the Diamondbacks remain atop the NL wild card race.

Tampa Bay at Houston 8:10 PM ET
The Houston Astros surprisingly did not make a major deal to bolster their pitching staff at Monday's non-waiver trade deadline, but if their offense continues to perform like it did the same night, it won’t matter much. The Astros look to match their impressive performance at the plate in the series opener when they host the Tampa Bay Rays for the second contest of their four-game set on Tuesday.
Toronto at Chi. White Sox 8:10 PM ET
The Toronto Blue Jays were sellers at Monday's non-waiver trade deadline, dealing pitchers Francisco Liriano and Joe Smith for prospects, and the team responded with a big letdown on the field shortly afterward. The Blue Jays will try to bounce back from a crushing loss when they visit the Chicago White Sox for the middle contest of their three-game series on Tuesday.

NY Mets at Colorado 8:40 PM ET
The Colorado Rockies begin August holding down a wild card spot in the National League and boasting some veteran additions that should help in the stretch run, beginning with the first of three against the visiting New York Mets on Tuesday. A few days after shoring up their bullpen with the acquisition of Pat Neshek, the Rockies obtained veteran catcher Jonathan Lucroy on Sunday in a deal with Texas.
San Francisco at Oakland 10:05 PM ET
The Oakland Athletics did the expected and dealt ace Sonny Gray before Monday's non-waiver trade deadline, but they managed to go on and emerge victorious in the Bay Bridge Series opener anyway. Oakland looks to extend its winning streak to four games when it hosts the San Francisco Giants for the second contest of the four-game, home-and-home set Tuesday.
Philadelphia at LA Angels 10:07 PM ET
Three outs from closing out a road trip on a high note, the Los Angeles Angels will try to shake off a stunning setback when they kick off a nine-game homestand against the resurgent Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night. Philadelphia arrives on the West Coast riding a five-game winning streak after completing a four-game sweep of Atlanta.
Minnesota at San Diego 10:10 PM ET
The Minnesota Twins have felt at home on the road for much of the season, although the results over their current eight-game West Coast trek haven't been comforting at all. After squandering leads in every contest, the Twins aim to turn around their fortunes on Tuesday as they continue the road trip with the opener of a two-game interleague series at the San Diego Padres.
