July 29, 2015
Kansas City at Cleveland 12:10 PM ET
The rich keep getting richer when it comes to the Kansas City Royals, who continue to add pieces to a roster that already boasts the best record in the American League. The Royals made a deal to bring in super utilityman Ben Zobrist from the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday but don’t expect to have him available when they go for a three-game sweep of the host Cleveland Indians on Wednesday.
Detroit at Tampa Bay 12:10 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays look to continue their sudden power surge and complete a three-game home sweep of the fading Detroit Tigers on Wednesday afternoon. The Rays received four homers from catcher Curt Casali and 15 runs combined in the first two games of the series after scoring 14 times in their previous seven contests – five of them losses.
Pittsburgh at Minnesota 1:10 PM ET
The reeling Minnesota Twins are giving up runs in bunches, especially late in games. They will try to end their second three-game losing streak of the second half of the season in the finale of their two-game series with the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday, the last interleague contest of the year for both teams.
Colorado at Chi. Cubs 2:20 PM ET

The Chicago Cubs need a strong performance from their ace to spell an overtaxed bullpen and claim a series victory over the visiting Colorado Rockies. Left-hander Jon Lester takes the ball Wednesday in the finale of the three-game series in hopes of cooling off a Rockies lineup that has produced 32 runs in its past three games.

Arizona at Seattle 3:40 PM ET
The Arizona Diamondbacks attempt to complete a sweep when they visit the Seattle Mariners for the finale of their three-game interleague series Wednesday afternoon. After taking three of four from Milwaukee at home, Arizona kicked off its 10-game road trip with a pair of triumphs in Seattle.
Milwaukee at San Francisco 3:45 PM ET
The Milwaukee Brewers attempt to conclude their road trip with back-to-back victories when they visit the San Francisco Giants for the rubber match of their three-game series Wednesday afternoon. Milwaukee began its seven-game trek by dropping three of four at Arizona, then lost the opener in San Francisco before evening the set with a 5-2 triumph Tuesday.
Atlanta at Baltimore 7:05 PM ET
Chris Davis is doing his part to position the Baltimore Orioles for a late-season surge toward the American League playoffs, and enters Wednesday’s series finale against the visiting Atlanta Braves looking to build off a two-homer, five-RBI effort. Davis, who hit .214 through the season’s first 56 contests, is batting .279 in his past 41 games with 12 homers and 32 RBIs.
Philadelphia at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
Troy Tulowitzki is expected to make his debut with the host Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday as they attempt to salvage a split of their abbreviated two-game interleague series against the red-hot Philadelphia Phillies. Acquired with veteran reliever LaTroy Hawkins in a blockbuster deal with Colorado, the five-time All-Star Tulowitzki can provide just the jolt Toronto needs after it fell for the 15th time in 24 contests on Tuesday with a 3-2 setback in the series opener.
Chi. White Sox at Boston 7:10 PM ET
The Chicago White Sox were left for dead a week ago but suddenly seem to be playing themselves into wild card contention in front of the trade deadline. The White Sox will go for their seventh straight win when they visit the stumbling Boston Red Sox in the third of a four-game series on Wednesday.
Washington at Miami 7:10 PM ET
The Miami Marlins are well back of the Washington Nationals in the standings but they have made things awfully tough on the National League East leaders this season. Miami has won five of seven meetings against the Nationals, including all four at home, entering Wednesday's middle contest of the three-game series at Marlins Park.
San Diego at NY Mets 7:10 PM ET
The New York Mets go for their fourth consecutive victory when they host the San Diego Padres on Wednesday in the second of a three-game series. New York continued its stellar play at home, improving to 35-16 at Citi Field with Tuesday's 4-0 victory and drawing within one game of the first-place Washington Nationals in the National League East.
NY Yankees at Texas 8:05 PM ET
The New York Yankees are second in the major leagues in runs scored behind the Toronto Blue Jays but are making a healthy run at the top spot. The Yankees will try to keep the runs coming after putting up a 21-spot when they visit the Texas Rangers in the third contest of their four-game series on Wednesday.
LA Angels at Houston 8:10 PM ET
The Los Angeles Angels hope to have reigning American League MVP Mike Trout back in the lineup Wednesday when they visit the Houston Astros in the middle contest of their key three-game series. Trout, who leads the major leagues with 31 home runs and is hitting .315 with 64 RBIs, injured his wrist while trying to make a diving catch Sunday and did not play Tuesday, when Houston prevailed 10-5 to move into a virtual tie with Los Angeles atop the AL West.
Cincinnati at St. Louis 8:15 PM ET
Cincinnati Reds slugger Joey Votto has been scorching since the All-Star break, and the St. Louis Cardinals know what he can do all too well. Votto looks to continue his good fortune when the National League Central rivals reconvene at Busch Stadium on Wednesday to play the rubber match of their three-game series.
Oakland at LA Dodgers 10:10 PM ET
The Los Angeles Dodgers have the majors' highest team payroll, but have been overshadowed this week by the frugal Oakland Athletics. The Athletics, who have traded Tyler Clippard, Scott Kazmir and Ben Zobrist in the past six days, snapped a four-game losing streak with Tuesday’s 2-0 victory at Dodger Stadium and head into Wednesday’s series finale looking to hand the hosts their fourth straight loss.
