Preview Roundups
July 26, 2016
St. Louis at NY Mets 4:10 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals got a much-needed rest thanks to Mother Nature when Monday’s series opener at the New York Mets was postponed due to rain. The rest ends with at least 18 innings in one day when the series kicks off with a single-admission doubleheader on Tuesday.
Colorado at Baltimore 7:05 PM ET
A series featuring three of the biggest home run hitters in the majors is being decided by small ball so far, with the Baltimore Orioles coming out on top. The Orioles will try to clinch a win in the three-game interleague series when they host the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday in the second of a three-game set.
Seattle at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET
Rust was a formidable foe for Felix Hernandez in his last outing as the 2010 American League Cy Young Award winner struggled to find his form in his first start following a near-two-month absence with a right calf injury. Hernandez looks to regain his footing Tuesday as the visiting Seattle Mariners play the opener of an abbreviated two-game interleague series against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
San Diego at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
The San Diego Padres' first-ever visit to Rogers Centre was totally forgettable before Alex Dickerson provided a noteworthy consolation moment in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. The Padres have homered in 23 consecutive games -- the longest streak in the majors this season -- entering Tuesday's matchup against the Blue Jays.
Detroit at Boston 7:10 PM ET
The Detroit Tigers are proving they are still very much in the race for a playoff spot in the American League and a series victory against a fellow contender could convince the front office to buy at the trade deadline. The Tigers will try to clinch that series triumph when they visit the Boston Red Sox in the second of a three-game series on Tuesday.
Chi. Cubs at Chi. White Sox 7:10 PM ET

The Chicago White Sox have recorded three straight walk-off wins for the first time in nearly 54 years, but if they make it four in a row they’ll probably have to do so against one of the most feared relievers in baseball. The White Sox look to continue their hot streak Tuesday against the visiting Chicago Cubs, who will have fire-balling closer Aroldis Chapman at their disposal for the second of a four-game series.

Washington at Cleveland 7:10 PM ET
The Washington Nationals haven't looked much like a first-place team of late en route to losing five of their last seven. The Nationals hope a change of scenery is just what the doctor ordered Tuesday as they open a nine-game road trip with an abbreviated two-game interleague series against the American League Central-leading Cleveland Indians.
Philadelphia at Miami 7:10 PM ET
The Miami Marlins' offense lacked any semblance of bite in the last two games, as the suddenly sputtering club has mustered all of seven singles en route to a pair of shutout losses. The Marlins will look to flip the switch on Tuesday as they host the second contest of their three-game series against the National League East-rival Philadelphia Phillies.

St. Louis at NY Mets 7:50 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals got a much-needed rest thanks to Mother Nature when Monday’s series opener at the New York Mets was postponed due to rain. The rest ends with at least 18 innings in one day when the series kicks off with a single-admission doubleheader on Tuesday.
Oakland at Texas 8:05 PM ET
Sonny Gray has won 14 games in each of the past two seasons but he will be seeking only his second victory in 15 starts when the visiting Oakland Athletics continue their three-game series against the Texas Rangers. Oakland blew a four-run lead before falling 7-6 on Adrian Beltre's walk-off homer in the ninth inning Monday.
NY Yankees at Houston 8:10 PM ET
Hours after making a bold move by trading flame-throwing closer Aroldis Chapman to the Chicago Cubs, the New York Yankees moved three games over .500 for the first time this season. The Yankees have won seven of their last nine games as they continue their three-game set at the Houston Astros on Tuesday night.
Atlanta at Minnesota 8:10 PM ET
A quarter-century after the Minnesota Twins won the World Series against the Atlanta Braves in one of the greatest postseason showdowns in baseball history, both teams find themselves trying to avoid the worst record in the game. Atlanta opens a two-game series at Minnesota on Tuesday possessing baseball’s worst record at 33-66, 4 ½ games behind the Twins’ American League-worst 37-61.
Arizona at Milwaukee 8:10 PM ET
The Milwaukee Brewers put on an impressive power display in the series opener and look to defeat Arizona again when they host the Diamondbacks on Tuesday in the second contest of a four-game set. Milwaukee hammered four homers to account for six runs in Monday's 7-2 victory.
LA Angels at Kansas City 8:15 PM ET
The Kansas City Royals continue to slide in the wrong direction and take another swipe at turning things around when they host the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday. Kansas City lost the opener of the three-game set to fall two games below .500 and is just 6-14 in July.
Tampa Bay at LA Dodgers 10:10 PM ET
Howie Kendrick boasts a 16-game hitting streak and faces a team he has punished in the past as his Los Angeles Dodgers host the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday for the first of two interleague contests. Kendrick is batting .359 in 52 games against the Rays and owns a .377 average in July -- 26-for-66 with three homers and nine RBIs during his streak.
Cincinnati at San Francisco 10:15 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants continue to stagger out of the All-Star break while the visiting Cincinnati Reds are playing solid baseball. Cincinnati attempts to defeat the Giants for the second straight night on Tuesday after opening a six-game road trip with a 7-5 victory that represented San Francisco's eighth loss in nine games.
