Baltimore at Washington 7:05 PM ET
The Baltimore Orioles will try to summon some energy before visiting Washington on Monday in the first of four straight interleague games between the regional rivals. After splitting a day-night doubleheader at Boston on Saturday, the Orioles survived a 12-inning affair that lasted over five hours Sunday, resulting in a 7-6 victory. Baltimore, which hosts Washington for two games after two in the nation's capital, has won six of seven overall and is 18-10 against the Nationals since 2009.
Chi. White Sox at Boston 7:10 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox haven't enjoyed much of an advantage during their current 10-game homestand, but they hope to change that by continuing their dominance over the visiting Chicago White Sox in a four-game series starting Monday. The Red Sox have won 14 of the past 19 meetings, including six of the last seven at Fenway Park. Boston has lost five of the first six games on the stand, including a 7-6 defeat in 12 innings Sunday against Baltimore.
Atlanta at NY Mets 7:10 PM ET
The New York Mets got star third baseman David Wright back into the lineup this weekend, only to lose a member of their starting rotation. The Mets host the Atlanta Braves on Monday for the first of four games, but placed Jonathan Niese on the disabled list with a strained left shoulder. Atlanta’s Mike Minor and New York’s Daisuke Matsuzaka start the series opener, six days after the two pitchers met in Atlanta, a game the Braves won 5-4.
Chi. Cubs at Cincinnati 7:10 PM ET
The Chicago Cubs won't be playing any five-game postseason series anytime soon, but they'll get a taste of what it might be like when they travel to Cincinnati for a five-game set with the Reds starting Monday. The National League Central rivals will play a day-night doubleheader Tuesday before wrapping up the series with single games Wednesday and Thursday. It's the first five-game clash between the teams since Sept. 6-9, 1999, in Chicago.
NY Yankees at Cleveland 7:10 PM ET
New York and Cleveland continue to hover near the .500 mark as the Yankees visit the Indians for Monday’s opener of a four-game set. New York sits one game above .500 after opening an 11-game road trip leading up to the All-Star break by taking three of four from Minnesota. Cleveland is one game below .500 despite winning four of its last five and opened a 10-game homestand by capturing two of three from Kansas City.
Kansas City at Tampa Bay 7:10 PM ET
James Shields returns to the place where he began his major-league career when the Kansas City Royals visit the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday to open a three-game set. Shields won 87 games in seven years with the Rays before being traded to the Royals after the 2012 season in a deal that included Jake Odorizzi, whom he faces in the series opener. Shields, who won his only game against the Rays in Kansas City last season, takes on a Tampa Bay team coming off a 9-2 road trip.
Houston at Texas 8:05 PM ET
The Texas Rangers look to continue their dominance of the Houston Astros when the teams begin a three-game series Monday in Arlington. The Rangers are 42-13 against the Astros since the start of the 2008 season, including a 21-6 record at home. Both teams are struggling as they head toward the All-Star break, with Texas losing 15 of its last 18 games and Houston matching a season high with seven straight losses.
Philadelphia at Milwaukee 8:10 PM ET
The Milwaukee Brewers are coming off another losing series against their National League Central nemesis, making it an opportune time for the Philadelphia Phillies to come to town. The Brewers, who open a seven-game homestand on Monday with the first of four versus the Phillies, wrapped up a 1-4 road trip on Sunday with their seventh loss in 10 games against the Cincinnati Reds. Milwaukee, which has dropped five of six overall, scored only five runs during the three-game set.
Pittsburgh at St. Louis 8:15 PM ET
Andrew McCutchen and the Pittsburgh Pirates are intent on showing that last season's performance was far from a fluke. The reigning National League Most Valuable Player looks to continue his torrid stretch and send the streaking Pirates to their 13th win in 16 outings when they visit the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday in the opener of a four-game series.
San Diego at Colorado 8:40 PM ET
Playing at Coors Field no longer is an advantage for the struggling Colorado Rockies, who open a three-game series on Monday against the visiting San Diego Padres. Colorado has lost 15 of its last 20 home games as it drops closer to basement in the National League West. The fourth-place Rockies have lost 17 of their last 20 overall contests, while third-place San Diego has dropped two straight after winning five in a row.
Miami at Arizona 9:40 PM ET
Casey McGehee and Marcell Ozuna have found their groove at the plate to keep the Miami Marlins afloat in the National League East. The two look to extend their respective hitting streaks on Monday as Miami continues its nine-game road trip to conclude the first half of the season with the opener of a three-game set versus the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Toronto at LA Angels 10:05 PM ET
The Los Angeles Angels look to extend their home winning streak to 11 games Monday as they begin a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays, who have lost six in a row on the road. Los Angeles stands 15 games over .500 for the first time since the end of the 2012 season and owns a 21-3 mark over its last 24 home contests. Despite having the American League’s second-best record, the Angels had just one player – center fielder Mike Trout – named to the All-Star Game on Sunday.
San Francisco at Oakland 10:05 PM ET
The annual Bay Bridge Series could have two installments this year. The San Francisco Giants and host Oakland Athletics begin their usual four-game clash Monday, with both teams harboring realistic hopes of a trip to the World Series. The Athletics own the best record in baseball after finishing a four-game sweep of Toronto on Sunday and are 28-15 at home.
Minnesota at Seattle 10:10 PM ET
Hisashi Iwakuma attempts to continue his mastery of Minnesota on Monday when the Seattle Mariners open a four-game series against the visiting Twins. Iwakuma has won all four of his career starts against Minnesota and hasn't allowed an earned run in 26 2/3 innings while giving up just 16 hits. The Twins are struggling with 10 losses in 13 contests as they begin a seven-game road trip while Seattle is opening a seven-game homestand.
