The Kansas City Royals looks to end the roller-coaster ride they have been on the last two weeks when they visit the Chicago Cubs on Friday to begin a three-game series. The Royals have allowed 29 runs during a four-game losing streak, giving up their lead in the American League Central, after winning seven of the previous eight contests.
Tampa Bay at Baltimore 7:05 PM ET
The Baltimore Orioles continue their eight-game homestand when they take on the Tampa Bay Rays in the first actual series between the American League East rivals at Camden Yards this season. The teams were scheduled to square off in a three-game set at the home of the Orioles at the beginning of the month, but it was relocated to Tropicana Field because of riots and social unrest in Baltimore.

Third baseman Nolan Arenado looks to extend a power surge as his Colorado Rockies visit the struggling Philadelphia Phillies to open a three-game set on Friday. Arenado is 9-for-16 with three homers -- including one in a 6-4 victory at Cincinnati on Wednesday -- and 10 RBIs over the last four games for the Rockies, who have won four of five.

Matt Harvey and the New York Mets look to continue their early-season home dominance when they host the reeling Miami Marlins on Friday night in the opener of a three-game series. New York became the second National League team to reach 20 wins at home with a three-game sweep of division rival Philadelphia.

The Texas Rangers look to avoid a third consecutive loss when they continue their four-game homestand against the Boston Red Sox on Friday. Texas had its seven-game winning streak snapped Wednesday in Cleveland and suffered a second straight setback the following night, when it dropped a 5-1 decision to Boston in the series opener.

Two top pitching prospects square off when the Houston Astros open a three-game road series against the Chicago White Sox on Friday. Houston's Lance McCullers, a first-round pick in 2012, makes his third major-league start while Chicago's Carlos Rodon - the third overall selection of the 2014 draft - makes his seventh big-league appearance and fourth start.

A pair of teams in great need of a victory meet Friday night in Milwaukee as the Brewers host the Arizona Diamondbacks in the first of three straight games. The Diamondbacks had won six of seven before suffering an agonizing three-game sweep in St. Louis to begin the week.

The top two teams in the National League square off for the first time since a playoff encounter last October when the Los Angeles Dodgers visit the St. Louis Cardinals in the opener of a three-game series on Friday. The Cardinals have knocked the Dodgers out of the postseason each of the last two years, including a Division Series victory capped by a 3-2 win over Los Angeles ace Clayton Kershaw on Oct. 7.

New York designated hitter Alex Rodriguez is reaching milestones on a daily basis and will try to move into sole possession of second place on baseball's career RBI list Friday when the Yankees visit the Oakland Athletics in the second contest of a four-game series. Rodriquez, who passed Lou Gehrig on Wednesday to become the American League's all-time RBI leader, drove in his 1,996th run during Thursday's 5-4 loss, tying Barry Bonds and trailing only Hank Aaron (2,297).

Jason Kipnis is shredding the baseball in May and looks to continue his torrid production when the Cleveland Indians visit the Seattle Mariners in Friday's second contest of a four-game set. Kipnis went 2-for-4 with two RBIs as Cleveland posted a 5-3 victory on Thursday and he is batting .449 this month to raise his season mark to .345.

Jung Ho Kang appears to be settling in nicely with the Pittsburgh Pirates, who are riding a seven-game winning streak heading into Friday’s matchup against the host San Diego Padres. Kang blasted his third home run in Thursday’s 11-5 series-opening victory and is batting .366 during his 10-game hitting streak.
Atlanta at San Francisco 10:15 PM ET
Tim Hudson faces his former team for the first time since joining San Francisco on Friday as the Giants host the Atlanta Braves, who have opened their 10-game road trip with a 1-3 mark. Hudson pitched nine seasons for the Braves before signing with the Giants, who have outscored their opponents 20-2 during their five-game home winning streak.
