Preview Roundups
May 25, 2015
Kansas City at NY Yankees 1:05 PM ET
The New York Yankees attempt to snap their six-game losing streak as they make a quick turnaround and host the Kansas City Royals on Monday afternoon in the opener of their three-game series. New York's skid, which began with a 6-0 loss in Kansas City on May 17, was extended Sunday night as it suffered a 5-2 defeat against visiting Texas - its 10th setback in 11 games.
Colorado at Cincinnati 1:10 PM ET
The Cincinnati Reds are mired in the worst tailspin in the major leagues, but they will face another struggling team when the Colorado Rockies come to town to open a three-game series on Monday. The Reds have dropped eight in a row following a three-game sweep at in-state rival Cleveland, a performance that manager Bryan Price termed as "brutal."
Philadelphia at NY Mets 1:10 PM ET
After falling for the seventh straight time on the road, the New York Mets hope that returning to the comforts of home can also serve as a wake-up call for their sleeping bats. The Mets look to move past a disastrous sweep in Pittsburgh when they open a six-game homestand with a three-game set versus National League East rival Philadelphia on Monday.
Houston at Baltimore 1:35 PM ET

Two of the American League's top left-handers square off Monday when Baltimore's Wei-Yin Chen and Houston's Dallas Keuchel take the mound to open a three-game series at Camden Yards. Keuchel aims to continue the best start by an Astros starter since Roger Clemens won his first nine decisions in 2004 while Chen looks for his first win in five home starts this season.

Boston at Minnesota 2:10 PM ET
Mike Napoli is warming up fast after a rough start to the season and looks to stay red hot when his Boston Red Sox visit the surging Minnesota Twins on Monday for the opener of a three-game series. Napoli, who was batting .162 on May 17, has homered five times – four in the last three days – and knocked in 10 runs over the past six games while going 9-for-21.
San Francisco at Milwaukee 2:10 PM ET
The Milwaukee Brewers return home following a 10-game road trip occupying last place in the National League Central, but help may be coming soon as the Brewers host the San Francisco Giants on Monday. All-Star catcher Jonathan Lucroy may be close to starting a rehab assignment as he recovers from a fractured left toe, while shortstop Jean Segura (fractured pinkie finger) could come off the disabled list as soon as Friday.
Washington at Chi. Cubs 2:20 PM ET

The Washington Nationals and Chicago Cubs are about to get well acquainted with seven meetings over the next two weeks. The National League contenders will begin their first three-game set Monday at Wrigley Field.

Detroit at Oakland 4:05 PM ET
The Detroit Tigers, losers of two in a row and five of their last eight, look to alter their recent fortunes when they begin a seven-game road trip with a three-game series against the Oakland Athletics on Monday. Miguel Cabrera certainly has been doing his part with a 12-game hitting streak, including a 7-for-15 performance as Detroit settled for a four-game series split with Houston following Sunday's 10-8 setback.
Texas at Cleveland 4:10 PM ET
The Cleveland Indians vie for their seventh consecutive victory Monday, when they begin a three-game series against Josh Hamilton and the visiting Texas Rangers. Cleveland has been sensational since dropping the opener of a four-game series at Chicago, winning the final three meetings with the White Sox before sweeping a three-game home set against in-state rival Cincinnati.
Arizona at St. Louis 4:15 PM ET
Having halted their season-high three-game losing streak, the St. Louis Cardinals return home to kick off a nine-game homestand against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday. The Cardinals averted a three-game series sweep with a 6-1 victory at in-state rival Kansas City on Sunday and now look to build upon their 15-5 record at home.
Miami at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET
After beginning their eight-game homestand in less than impressive fashion, the Pittsburgh Pirates received a near-historic effort from their strong starting pitching to sweep their last opponent. The Pirates eye a fourth straight victory in Pittsburgh on Monday when they open a three-game set against the Miami Marlins.
Chi. White Sox at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
Jose Bautista continues battling a sore right shoulder, but Edwin Encarnacion is heating up to help keep the Toronto Blue Jays within striking distance in the American League East. Encarnacion has blasted eight homers in May and leads the Blue Jays into Monday’s home contest with the Chicago White Sox hitting .282 with 22 RBIs this month.
Seattle at Tampa Bay 7:10 PM ET
The American League East-leading Tampa Bay Rays look to rebound from two straight losses at home when they host the Seattle Mariners in the opener of a three-game set Monday night. The Rays were shut out for the fifth time this season on Saturday and were beaten 7-2 on Sunday by the Oakland Athletics, who own the worst record in baseball.
Atlanta at LA Dodgers 8:10 PM ET
One game above .500 and just 3 ½ games off the pace in the National League East is not where many people expected to find the Atlanta Braves on Memorial Day, but Atlanta’s early-season success undergoes a big test starting Monday. The Braves open a three-city, 10-game road trip at the Los Angeles Dodgers, facing a journey featuring three against the NL West-leading Dodgers, four against defending World Series champion San Francisco and three at Arizona.
San Diego at LA Angels 9:05 PM ET
A promising road trip ended with a thud for the Los Angeles Angels, who attempt to regroup when they kick off a 10-game homestand on Monday with the first of three against the San Diego Padres. The Angels had won five of eight before winding up their 10-game trek with a pair of five-run losses in Boston to drop back to .500 on the season.
