Preview Roundups
May 20, 2015
Oakland at Houston 2:10 PM ET
Dallas Keuchel looks to remain unbeaten as the Houston Astros close a three-game series against the visiting Oakland Athletics on Wednesday. Keuchel leads the American League in ERA, has allowed just 37 hits in 57 2/3 innings and aims to pitch Houston to its seventh win in eight games.
Seattle at Baltimore 7:05 PM ET
Jimmy Paredes is making his mark for Baltimore and looks to reach base for the 17th consecutive game this month when the Orioles host the Seattle Mariners in Wednesday’s second contest of a three-game set. Paredes homered and drove in a career-high four runs as Baltimore rolled to a 9-4 victory in the series opener.
Minnesota at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET
The Minnesota Twins remain one of the pleasant surprises of the early season, at least as far as their own fans are concerned. The Pittsburgh Pirates, who will try to avoid a sweep when they host the Twins in the finale of a two-game interleague series on Wednesday, were not so happy to see Minnesota continue its surge on Tuesday.
NY Yankees at Washington 7:05 PM ET
The surging Washington Nationals have won four straight to climb into a tie for first place in the National League East and look to complete a two-game sweep of the visiting New York Yankees on Wednesday night. Washington erased a four-run deficit to beat the Yankees 8-6 in 10 innings Tuesday on Ryan Zimmerman's walk-off homer for the team's 16th win in 20 games.
LA Angels at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
The Los Angeles Angels restored order in their history with Toronto and they'll try to take control of the four-game set when they visit the Blue Jays on Wednesday. Los Angeles has not lost a season series to Toronto since 2007 and improved to 37-23 during that span with a 3-2 victory Tuesday after dropping Monday's opener 10-6, and the Angels' Jered Weaver - Wednesday's starter - also looks to continue his mastery of the Blue Jays.
Milwaukee at Detroit 7:08 PM ET
The Detroit Tigers are losers of three straight and are suddenly struggling to score runs. The Tigers will try to avoid being swept in a three-game series when they host the Milwaukee Brewers in the finale on Wednesday.
Texas at Boston 7:10 PM ET
Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell elected not to make any changes to his lineup following a less-than-inspiring offensive showing during a 10-game road trip, but the status quo worked out just fine in the return home. The Red Sox will try to improve to 2-0 on the homestand when they host the Texas Rangers in the second of the three-game series on Wednesday.
Tampa Bay at Atlanta 7:10 PM ET
The recipe for the surprising early-season success of the Tampa Bay Rays can be attributed to playing from ahead. The Rays, who visit the Atlanta Braves for the finale of a two-game interleague series Wednesday, scored first for the 18th time in Tuesday’s 5-3 victory, improving to 16-2 on the season when they plate the game’s first run.
Arizona at Miami 7:10 PM ET

The Miami Marlins are still looking for their first victory under their new manager going into the third of a four-game series with the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday. The Marlins have dropped the first two games of the series since Dan Jennings took over as manager, and they've lost five straight overall.

St. Louis at NY Mets 7:10 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals haven't posted back-to-back road wins against the New York Mets in the same series in 10 years, but they have a chance to end that drought Wednesday in the third of a four-game set at Citi Field. The Cardinals broke out of their recent offensive funk away from home with a 10-2 drubbing of the Mets on Tuesday, matching their run output from their previous seven games combined at Citi Field.
Cleveland at Chi. White Sox 8:10 PM ET
The Chicago White Sox had their season-best six-game winning streak halted by Cleveland and look to start a new streak on Wednesday when they host the Indians in the third contest of a four-game set. Cleveland ended Chicago’s streak with a 3-1 win on Tuesday while ending its two-game skid.
Cincinnati at Kansas City 8:10 PM ET
Coming off back-to-back shutout victories for the first time since 1992, the Kansas City Royals go for a two-game sweep of the visiting Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday night. The Royals have won four of five to open a season-high 2 1/2-game lead over the Detroit Tigers atop the American League Central.
Philadelphia at Colorado 8:40 PM ET
After ending a pair of long streaks, the Colorado Rockies seek their first set of consecutive wins in nearly a month when they continue a four-game series with Philadelphia on Wednesday. The Rockies' 6-5 victory Tuesday ended their six-game losing streak at home and snapped the Phillies' six-game surge, which was the longest in the National League.
Chi. Cubs at San Diego 10:10 PM ET
The San Diego Padres are surviving a difficult schedule to start the season and try for their second straight victory over Chicago when they host the Cubs on Wednesday. San Diego is 20-20 — 16-16 against teams .500 or higher — and play 11 of their next 15 games against break-even clubs or better, including two more against Chicago (21-17).
LA Dodgers at San Francisco 10:15 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants have been able to recover from an abysmal 4-10 start thanks in part to their recent strong play at home — and no team has felt the brunt of that more than the Los Angeles Dodgers. After securing their 11th win in 14 tries at AT&T Park in the opener, the Giants look to improve to 5-0 at home against the Dodgers on Wednesday when the National League West rivals continue their three-game set.
