Preview Roundups
May 04, 2015
Miami at Washington 7:05 PM ET
The Washington Nationals' offense is sputtering again, although it'd be hard to tell from their weekend results. The Nationals won the final two games of their four-game set with the New York Mets and aim to push their winning streak to three games Monday versus the visiting Miami Marlins.
NY Yankees at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
The Toronto Blue Jays will be happy to get home after going 3-7 on their 10-game trip, but the competition is not getting any easier. The Blue Jays will try to cool the red-hot New York Yankees when the division rivals square off in the opener of a three-game series on Monday.
Tampa Bay at Boston 7:10 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox are in the midst of a stretch of 22 straight games against American League East opponents and are not having much success. The Red Sox will try to turn things around when they host the Tampa Bay Rays in the opener of a three-game series on Monday.
Philadelphia at Atlanta 7:10 PM ET
Ryan Howard is dealing with the struggles of an aging slugger who is past his prime, but the Philadelphia Phillies first baseman hopes Sunday’s two-hit performance signifies a turnaround. The Phillies open a three-game series Monday at the Atlanta Braves after Howard helped Philadelphia snap a five-game losing streak with a victory Sunday at Miami.
LA Dodgers at Milwaukee 7:20 PM ET
The Los Angeles Dodgers are off to their best start since 2012 despite not providing much support for ace Clayton Kershaw when he takes the mound. The Dodgers hope to help out the reigning National League MVP a bit more as he seeks his 100th career victory on Monday in the opener of a four-game series in Milwaukee against the league-worst Brewers.
Texas at Houston 8:10 PM ET
The white-hot Houston Astros look to move closer to the franchise record for consecutive victories when they begin a three-game series against the visiting Texas Rangers on Monday. Houston inched within two wins of the club mark by posting its 10th straight on Sunday, a 7-6 triumph over Seattle that completed a four-game sweep.
Oakland at Minnesota 8:10 PM ET
The Minnesota Twins attempt to begin a second consecutive four-game series sweep when they host the Oakland Athletics in the opener of their set on Monday. After beginning its 11-game homestand by dropping two of three against Detroit, Minnesota took out its frustration on the Chicago White Sox, posting four straight victories by a combined 31-8 score.
Chi. Cubs at St. Louis 8:10 PM ET
The Chicago Cubs have been scuffling offensively of late, something they don't want to continue as they head into the opener of a four-game series in St. Louis on Monday against the formidable pitching of the Cardinals. The Cubs find themselves in the middle of the pack in the National League with 94 runs but have managed only six over their last four contests following a four-game winning streak during which they averaged 5.5.
Arizona at Colorado 8:40 PM ET
The Arizona Diamondbacks remain in search of the first victory of their six-game road trip as they begin a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies on Monday. Arizona kicked off its trek with three contests in Los Angeles, where it scored a total of four runs en route to getting swept by the Dodgers.
Seattle at LA Angels 10:05 PM ET
Two teams coming off a dreadful weekend square off Monday when the Los Angeles Angels host the Seattle Mariners for the first of three games. The Angels and Mariners each were swept on the road over the weekend, leaving both teams at least seven games back of the red-hot Houston Astros, who have won 10 straight games and hold a comfortable lead in the American League West.
San Diego at San Francisco 10:15 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants dropped their first five games at AT&T Park this season, but they bring a six-game home winning streak into Monday’s series opener against the San Diego Padres. The Giants have won eight of their last 11 games overall, including a three-game sweep of the Los Angeles Angels over the weekend.
