Preview Roundups
April 29, 2015
Milwaukee at Cincinnati 12:35 PM ET
Michael Lorenzen will be summoned to make his major-league debut Wednesday afternoon, when the Cincinnati Reds wrap up their home series with the Milwaukee Brewers. Lorenzen, the Reds' first-round pick in 2013, is 2-1 with a 2.84 ERA this season as a starter for Triple-A Louisville. He has walked only four batters in 19 innings as his walks per nine innings continue to decline with his maturity through the minors.
Tampa Bay at NY Yankees 1:05 PM ET
Masahiro Tanaka will be placed on the disabled list instead of taking his scheduled start for the New York Yankees Wednesday when they go for a three-game sweep of the visiting Tampa Bay Rays. Tanaka, who was dazzling in his last two outings, developed tendinitis in his right wrist and an MRI revealed a mild right forearm strain which could force him to miss at least a month.
Detroit at Minnesota 1:10 PM ET
Shane Greene's sizzling first month with his new team came to a screeching halt his last time out. The Detroit Tigers' right-hander looks to bounce back from a poor outing when he faces the host Minnesota Twins in Wednesday's series finale.
Chi. White Sox at Baltimore 2:05 PM ET

The Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox will finally get a game in Wednesday, but they'll do so without any spectators. Due to violent protests and riots in Baltimore, the first two games of the scheduled three-game set have been postponed, and Wednesday's game will be closed to the public.

Houston at San Diego 3:40 PM ET
The Houston Astros have delivered back-to-back poundings of San Diego and attempt to complete a three-game sweep of the host Padres on Wednesday. Houston has scored 23 runs while winning the first two games and has won five straight games and nine of its last 10.
Toronto at Boston 6:10 PM ET
The Toronto Blue Jays are doing their part to make sure the Boston Red Sox’s rotation ERA continues to climb. The Blue Jays will try to get to another starter early and often when they visit the Red Sox for the rubber match of a three-game series on Wednesday.
Kansas City at Cleveland 6:10 PM ET
The Kansas City Royals attempt to complete their third series sweep of the first month of the season when they visit the Cleveland Indians for the finale of their three-game set Wednesday. Kansas City snapped a two-game skid with a 6-2 triumph in the opener before rolling to an 11-5 victory on Tuesday in which they erased a two-run deficit with a six-run seventh inning.
Washington at Atlanta 7:10 PM ET
The Washington Nationals broke out their bats and ended their six-game slide in dramatic fashion on Tuesday. The Nationals now take aim at avoiding their third straight series loss when they visit the Atlanta Braves in the rubber match of a three-game set on Wednesday.
NY Mets at Miami 7:10 PM ET
The New York Mets hope to avoid a second straight series loss when they visit the Miami Marlins for the rubber match of their three-game set on Wednesday. New York had its franchise record-tying 11-game winning streak halted by its crosstown rival on Friday and went on to drop two of three at Yankee Stadium before Daniel Murphy's three-run homer in the ninth inning on Monday gave it a 3-1 series-opening victory.
Seattle at Texas 8:05 PM ET
Felix Hernandez pitched his first complete game since 2012 in his last outing and strives to toss another dominating effort when the Seattle Mariners visit the Texas Rangers in Wednesday’s finale of a three-game series. Hernandez blanked Minnesota on five hits Friday for his 10th career shutout while continuing an unbeaten start.
Pittsburgh at Chi. Cubs 8:05 PM ET

The Chicago Cubs' promising start has centered around strong play against National League Central rivals, and they'll try to continue that when they go for a three-game sweep of the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday. The Cubs haven't swept a three-game series from the Pirates since September 2012 and they haven't done so at Wrigley Field since April 2008.

Philadelphia at St. Louis 8:15 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals have plenty of questions about their pitching staff in the wake of Adam Wainwright’s season-ending injury, but the offense looks ready to pick up the slack. The Cardinals will try to slug their way to a win when they host the Philadelphia Phillies in the third contest of their four-game series on Wednesday.
Colorado at Arizona 9:40 PM ET
There is a long list of batters who thrive against Colorado Rockies' pitching, and the Arizona Diamondbacks' Mark Trumbo is the latest to inflict a great deal of pain. The right fielder, who went 4-for-4 on Tuesday and is 6-for-8 with four RBIs, four runs and four extra-base hits in the first two games of the series, tries to make life miserable for Colorado again when Arizona hosts the Rockies on Wednesday in the rubber match of their three-game set.
LA Angels at Oakland 10:05 PM ET
The Oakland Athletics halted a four-game losing streak in the opener and attempt to defeat visiting Los Angeles for the second straight night when they host the Angels on Wednesday. The Athletics used a five-run first inning for a fast start in the opener to post a 6-2 victory and put an end to their skid.
San Francisco at LA Dodgers 10:10 PM ET
Carl Crawford has joined fellow outfielder Yasiel Puig on the disabled list for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who face the visiting San Francisco Giants on Wednesday in the rubber match of a three-game series. Crawford suffered a torn oblique muscle in Monday’s series opener and hopes to return in about a month.
