Preview Roundups
April 24, 2017
Chi. Cubs at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET

The Pittsburgh Pirates swept a three-game series from the Chicago Cubs the first time the National League Central rivals hooked up this season, and they hope to continue their strong performance against the World Series champions when they host the Cubs for a three-game series starting Monday. The Pirates are the only team to win a series from Chicago this season.

Tampa Bay at Baltimore 7:05 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays have looked like a much-improved team at home in April and must begin playing better away from Tropicana Field when they open an eight-game road trip Monday against the American League East-leading Baltimore Orioles. The Rays are 9-4 at home despite Sunday’s 6-4 loss to Houston, but won just once on a seven-game road trip through New York and Boston earlier this month.
Cincinnati at Milwaukee 7:40 PM ET
Third baseman Eugenio Suarez is off to the best start of his career and hopes to continue the red-hot hitting on the road when the Cincinnati Reds begin a six-game trip Monday night against the slumping Milwaukee Brewers. Suarez went 6-for-11 with two homers over the weekend against the Chicago Cubs to raise his average to .371 and is 10-for-19 on the road in the early going this season.
Minnesota at Texas 8:05 PM ET
The Texas Rangers have utilized their home field and dominant pitching to turn around a slow start. They will try to follow up an impressive four-game sweep when they play the first of three contests against the visiting Minnesota Twins on Monday.
Kansas City at Chi. White Sox 8:10 PM ET
Offense has been a major issue - particularly on the road - for the Kansas City Royals, a trend they hope to reverse when they begin a three-game series at the Chicago White Sox on Monday. The Royals dropped four straight at Texas to open their road trip, scoring five total runs in the process and managing five hits in Sunday's 5-2 loss.
Washington at Colorado 8:40 PM ET
The Washington Nationals have taken advantage of their stretch against division rivals, reeling off seven consecutive victories to match their longest streak of 2016. The reigning National League East champions attempt to extend their string of success and remain perfect on their 10-game road trip when they visit the Colorado Rockies on Monday for the first of four contests.
San Diego at Arizona 9:40 PM ET
The Arizona Diamondbacks have had their way against a number of pitching staffs already in 2017, although the San Diego Padres did about as good of a job as any team in keeping the best offense in the majors in check when they met last week. The Diamondbacks continue their 10-game homestand against National League West rivals on Monday, when the host the Padres for the first of four contests.
Toronto at LA Angels 10:07 PM ET
The Toronto Blue Jays turned on the power late on Sunday to gain the upper hand in their four-game set against the host Los Angeles Angels. Toronto now looks to record its first series win of the season when the teams conclude their string of matchups on Monday.
LA Dodgers at San Francisco 10:15 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants (2012) and Los Angeles Dodgers (2013-16) have combined to win the last five National League West titles, but neither team has shown much in the way of championship form three weeks into this season. The Dodgers attempt to reach the .500 mark Monday, when they begin a four-game series in San Francisco against the NL-worst Giants.
