Penguins 2, Oilers 0: Marc-Andre Fleury made 22 saves en route to his league-leading seventh shutout as visiting Pittsburgh topped Edmonton.

Evgeni Malkin scored in his return from a lower-body injury and former Oiler David Perron also tallied for the Penguins, who improved to 6-0-2 in their last eight meetings with Edmonton. Fleury stopped five shots in the first period, seven in the second and 10 in the third for his 35th career blanking.

Viktor Fasth made 24 saves in a losing effort for Edmonton, which fell to 9-16-2 at home. Defenseman Oscar Klefbom registered a team-high five shots.

Pittsburgh bookended the second period with goals. Malkin poked a loose puck past a scrambling Fasth 24 seconds into the session while a puck deflected off Perron on the doorstep and into the net with one second remaining to double the lead.

The Penguins only recorded two shots in the third period, but Fleury was up to the task of maintaining the lead as Edmonton was shut out for the fifth time this season. Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby assisted on Perron’s goal, giving him 10 points in seven career games against the Oilers.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Oilers LWs Taylor Hall and Benoit Pouliot both were scratched with foot injuries. … Malkin, who had missed five games, tied Kevin Stevens for sixth place on Pittsburgh’s all-time goals list with his 260th. … Fasth has recorded all five of Edmonton's road victories but fell to 0-6-0 at home. ... The teams meet again at Pittsburgh on March 12.
