Flyers 1, Maple Leafs 0: Steve Mason turned aside all 30 shots he faced to record his 25th career shutout as host Philadelphia won its season-high fourth in a row and extended Toronto's skid to nine games (0-8-1).

Defenseman Michael Del Zotto scored 4:05 into the first period to increase his point streak to a career-high six contests for the Flyers, who look to wrap up a perfect five-game homestand against the Metropolitan Division-leading New York Islanders on Thursday. Wayne Simmonds notched an assist while playing in his 500th career game and former Maple Leafs defenseman Luke Schenn recorded a team-high nine hits.

James Reimer turned aside 17 shots for Toronto, which also has dropped nine in a row on the road for the first time in one season since 1996-97. The Maple Leafs failed on their lone power-play opportunity to drop to 2-for-27 over their last nine games.

Making his 100th career appearance with Philadelphia, Mason preserved his second shutout of the season by turning aside 10 shots in the third period. The 26-year-old also received help from the Flyers' 28th-ranked penalty kill, as it overcame All-Star Jakub Voracek's tripping infraction late in the session.

Del Zotto continued his offensive production by jumping into the play and chipping a shot from deep in the left faceoff circle past Reimer. The defenseman has collected three goals and four assists during his point streak.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Voracek, who also was playing in his 500th career contest, was held without a shot and saw his five-game point streak come to a halt. ...
