Stars 6, Blackhawks 3: Cody Eakin collected two goals and an assist while Kari Lehtonen made 38 saves as visiting Dallas defeated Chicago for the first time in four meetings this season.

Tyler Seguin scored his 28th goal to pull even with New York Rangers forward Rick Nash for the NHL lead and also added an assist. Captain Jamie Benn set up three tallies, Erik Cole scored for the third time in four games and Vernon Fiddler and Shawn Horcoff also converted for the Stars.

Brandon Saad scored twice to increase his goal total to five in four games and Patrick Kane also tallied for the Blackhawks, who have dropped five of eight contests in January. Defenseman Brent Seabrook notched a pair of assists and Corey Crawford turned aside 28 shots in the setback.

After netting a short-handed goal midway into the first period, Eakin scored from the right doorstep to finish off a tic-tac-toe passing sequence with Benn and Seguin at 2:58 of the third for a power-play tally to give Dallas a 4-3 lead. Cole converted a 2-on-1 rush eight minutes later before Horcoff's empty-net tally with 60 seconds remaining sealed the win.

After Dallas seized a 2-0 lead, Chicago answered in short order as Kane scored from the left doorstep at 12:22 and an unmarked Saad cleaned up a rebound during a man advantage with exactly three minutes remaining in the first period to forge a tie. Fiddler converted from the left doorstep with 49 seconds left as Dallas regained the advantage before Saad turned in the slot while settling the puck at his skates before unleashing a shot past Lehtonen at 7:13 of the second.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Chicago LW Daniel Carcillo dismissed his right to an in-person hearing and will be on the phone with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Monday for his role in cross-checking Winnipeg's Mathieu Perreault during Friday's game. ... Seguin regained a share of the league's goal-scoring lead by spotting the loose puck following his team's faceoff win and burying a shot from the inner edge of the right faceoff circle 6:33 into the first period. ... Blackhawks LW Patrick Sharp dropped the gloves with Horcoff, marking his first official fight in an NHL game since Jan. 17, 2009, according to hockeyfights.com.
