Red Wings 3, Blues 2 (OT): Pavel Datsyuk scored at 4:57 of overtime as visiting Detroit snapped St. Louis' five-game winning streak.

With a shootout appearing imminent, defenseman Kyle Quincey slid a pass to Datsyuk, who snapped the puck off the blocker of Brian Elliott and into the net - although the officials reviewed the play before ruling it a goal. Joakim Andersson and Tomas Tatar scored 60 seconds part late in the second period and Petr Mrazek turned aside 25 shots as the Red Wings completed a 4-2-0 road trip.

Captain David Backes scored his eighth goal in six games and Alex Steen forced overtime with a last-minute tally in the third period for the Blues, who amassed 28 goals during their five-game run. Elliott made 21 saves in his first defeat since Dec. 30.

Detroit managed only two shots in the opening period and one more in the first 11 1/2 minutes of the second session before coming to life. Andersson notched his first goal of the season, poking in a rebound with 1:56 left in the period before Tatar doubled the lead exactly one minute later, pouncing on a rebound and lifting a backhander over Elliott.

Backes started the Blues' comeback during a power play by tipping defenseman Jay Bouwmeester's shot at 3:58 of the third for his 16th goal. The Red Wings had a goal waved off when Justin Abdelkader was ruled to have been in the crease, and St. Louis got the equalizer on a deft backhanded redirection by Steen that slipped inside the left post with 47.6 seconds to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Steen has collected six goals and eight assists during his eight-game point streak while Backes has notched 11 points during his four-game run. ... Mrazek won his second straight start since All-Star G Jimmy Howard (groin) was injured and improved to 3-0-0 lifetime versus St. Louis. ... Andersson ended his 34-game goalless drought dating to March 30 against Tampa Bay.
